Reimer Injury

Reimer "doubtful" for tomorrow according to Wilson. Depending on Gustavsson performance tonight he likely goes again vs. Ottawa.

Boy, you know, at some point it has to be incumbent on this team to either tell us what's wrong or not be wrong with their guesses.

Im pretty positive they said he "could have" played on Thursday but they were going to err on the side of caution did they not?

Seems weird how they keep just throwing guesses out there

Well if they're treating it like a concussion, wouldn't it almost be like Connolly's injury, where they hope he will feel better/fine the next day, and it's just a wait and see thing?  If he was able to work out (I think I read that) then I can't see it being that serious.

Yeah. Whiplash, like concussions, is going to be a day by day thing until it's dealt with. What the team should be doing is not giving time frames and just saying things like "he'll be back when he's back" and other generic, uninformative statements.

"I can neither confirm nor deny......."  ;)

It looks like we're going to get a real good look at Gus before Reimer returns. I hope we can play at least 500 hockey while we wait for James to get back.

Exactly what I was thinking.  JFJ got pilloried for doing that, but I defended him as being responsible in not putting out rank guesswork as "information."

Yeah. This is his time to shine, or fold his tent. After this he can't say he didn't get his chance to prove himself.

I heard Burke on this the other day. He seemed as  candid as he could be. Sometimes with medical issues, they don't know a definitive answer. It's kind of "let's see how it goes" or ... "day to day". As it goes well, folks are optimistic but that doesn't mean there's no possibility of a setback.

This is a whiplash/concussion problem. It's not like they can do a blood test and count the brain cells/neck cells that aren't working to provide fans with a precise prognosis.

That seems like a pretty fair thing to just come out and say though. "Reimer has whiplash/a concussion and we're not entirely sure when he'll return" seems infinitely easier than being heavy on the subterfuge and guesswork.

Reimer's status up in the air
Leafs may face healthy Brodeur

It appears James Reimer's head and neck injury isn't getting any better.

After taking an elbow to the head in a game against the Montreal Canadiens last Saturday, the Leafs' No. 1 goalie will miss his fifth straight game when the Leafs play the New Jersey Devils Wednesday (7: 30 p.m., TSN).

Jonas Gustavsson will start again with Ben Scrivens as the backup.

Can we stop calling this injury "day to day" now?  How can it be day to day when they're cancelling his starts more than 1 day ahead of time?

He does not seem to be suffering in this image taken last night... oh wait maybe that isn't Reimer. :)

So I know I'm pretty obtuse, but is that Reimer in the new Tim Horton's Bagel commercial?  And if that IS Reimer in this picture, he's got a pretty good sense of humour.
