Roman Polak to Leafs

Gardiner and D'Amigo will make that 4 3, but still that's gotta be the lowest in the NHL.

Yeah. I mean, I imagine there will be a couple more once the roster gets sorted out, but, it's really a sad state of affairs.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's it. Reimer might not come back, and I doubt any other Marlie makes the team. Maybe Nylander can make it 4.

With a dynamic duo of Gleason and Polak, the Leafs will practically be able to pull the goalie for a third of the game.

More Marlies will be needed to fill out the roster holes from the departed.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa- Gunnarsson AND the 94th overall AND retained salary?? I kinda don't see the benefit to this one...

Who else is ready to make the jump though? Maybe a Broll or a Devane can fill out the 4th line, but the other spots will be filled by Holland, Ashton, UFAs, or more trades.

I guess it kind of depends on how the rest of the summer plays out, but, I could also see Granberg or Leivo taking a spot on the roster this season. Possibly Percy.

See my signature.

I was going to give Nonis credit for taking Nylander but hell, I could have figured that out.

We don't have a management team.  We have a brothel, open 24/7.  With garish red carpeting.

The Leafs needed to move Gunnarson so they wouldn't exceed their Swede quota.  By drafting Nylander, he had to go.  With Rinat Valiev onboard, Kulemin is certain to be on a different team next season.

This is by far the most logical explanation of the trade that I've seen yet.

There has to be something going on, because otherwise, Shanahan and Nonis are putting way to much crazy into their culture change.

Phaneuf is gone.

(I was right about Nylander; maybe I'll get this one too....)

In the upcoming months...Bye Bye Kadri. Bye Bye Gardiner. Hello some slow useless plugs!

No. If anything, Nonis has been consistent in his stance to retain the youth. If Kadri and Gardiner go, it will be for a star player, or a youthful comparable. That, I'd put money on.

But it's Leaf fans who get screwed over..

Not now that we have Polak Roman the blueline....  I just cannot decide if this is a farce or a tragedy. ...no wait it's both.

It has to be the hip, surely?

I don't buy that. He's been playing with a bum hip for a couple of seasons now. I think it's slowed him down a tad but he's still been an effective player.

That doesn't make it sustainable though.  There has to be some reasoning here, and I hope it's more than just the RHS issue if Franson is indeed gone.

He's a right shot, he's big and he's tough. Seriously anybody who doesn't think that's enough of a reason for the Leafs to trade him for Gunnarsson hasn't been paying attention.
