Sabres @ Leafs - Oct. 28th, 7:30pm - TSN4, Fan 590

Greg Brady speculating that Randy will be fired if Leafs lose tonight.

I doubt our show will be only place you hear this today - Sabres win in Toronto tonight may mean the firing of Randy Carlyle before Friday.(@bradyfan590) https://twitter.com/bradyfan590/status/527040934220136448

Tonight will be a rare instance of tank nation wanting a win then.

I'm so torn. I want Randy gone, but, at the same time, I know the Leafs aren't going anywhere this season, so I want them to be extra bad . . . I suppose, since it generally takes a month or more for teams to adapt to new coaches, it probably doesn't matter either way. So, I guess it's win-win . . . in a kind of depressing way. I also really have my doubts about a loss tonight leading to Carlyle's dismissal. If the team is going to fire him, one game isn't really going to make that much of a difference.

Why do they need one more loss to decide to fire him?

Would a win against the worst team in the league really convince management that he should stay on?

I think this game is probably the acid test to see if the players bail on the coach. If they lose/stink, that'll be it. But imho, it says more about the players than the coaching.

I know they've mixed the lines up a touch, but what should have happened is about 3 guys in the top two lines watching this from the pressbox.

Burke said he decided to fire Wilson after a loss where the fans got on him.  Maybe losing to Buffalo would just be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

I don't believe it though.

I see Anaheim continues to struggle since Stanley Cup Winner Randy Carlyle was fired.  8) 8) 8)

I'm skeptical that he'd get axed even after a loss tonight.  Unless they get blown out 7-0 or something.

Remember, though, RC has just as many Cups as Bylsma and Babcock.

Everybody cheer Carlyle tonight!

I think Nonis is more likely to stick around longer than I'd like if Carlyle gets fired now too as opposed to the summer, where they'll both probably be axed.

I'm looking forward to when Nonis isn't GM more than to when Carlyle isn't coach.

I'm watching the NY Islanders while waiting for the Leafs game to start. It's sad how much they seem to have managed to improve from a similar, if not worse, situation to what the Leafs have been in

Anyone want to take bets on what minute we see the lines revert to type during the game? I'm going... 27th minute and JVR - Bozak - Kessel coming out

Indeed I really hope he doesn't make too many more long term commitments before he's out.

I look at the Phaneuf and Clarkson contracts as handi-capping (pun semi-intentional) the Leafs for at least 6 more years and hope he can't do too much more damage...those signings happened before Shanahan was brought in so hopefully he can save us from whatever desperation moves Nonis might try to pull.
