That's the thing, Sens are complete garbage but somehow find a way to beat the Leafs

The team is so f'n frustrating because they haven't done a single thing to address any of the deficiencies.

And they lose to a team when their very best player looked godawful many times during the game.

What is the Leafs record with Polak in the lineup? I don't want to blame it all on him but I am willing.

11-13-2 - but that include 3 SO wins. They have 8 ROW in his 26 games in the lineup. (.462 P%)

On the flip side, they're 14-4-1 without him, with 13 ROW in 19 games without him dressed. (.763 P%)

So, those splits are pretty crazy.

That keeps up and it's 18 wheeler of a ledge time.

There is no question Babcock is holding this team back.

Like you said before they have well and truly botched this homestand.

I don't care about reputation, how good of a coach he is but Shanahan needs to step in and make some changes with the way Babcock handles this team. His ego is the problem. Sure they are a young team, ways to go to get to that contender but I think Babcock has actually hindered our progress and probably cost us some points with his decisions. Frustrating to say the least because I know we could be sitting even higher in the standings.

It's even crazier, if you check my edits. The split is absurd. Obviously, that's not all on Polak, but, still . . . that's a huge swing.

You can blame Polak all you want.... Reilly personally lost the last 2 games, and he is suppose the next captain!

Hmm. I think I know what the problem is there...Not enough Polak! He needs to play more.

For a team that supposedly has a world-class coach they sure don't play like it.

Puck luck?  Bullcrap.  What a freaking joke.

Franchise-altering misreads of a team's capabilities have been made very recently because the people in management didn't understand this very principle.

My god.  This airplane has no parachute.

Okay, I'm on the bench Polak train now.

A puck hitting a post one inch in one direction changes everything.

Or a puck hitting the ice and bouncing left instead of right (or vice versa). If things broke the Leafs way a couple more times - especially on some of those early chances - and they likely dominate on the scoreboard as well.

Matthews had enough chances to have himself another 4G night.

Sure, Rielly screwed up near the end of the last couple games, but, man, with the drastic difference in those splits, part of me wonders if the games would have been close enough for that to happen if Polak was scratched.

That's a deep observation but then again nobody's saying go all Burke here and make panic moves.  You and several others here harp on Polak no end.  And it's fair enough, though I think the onus is also on Marleau, Kadri, and some other passengers too.  Make some internal lineup adjustments, shake up the PP units, etc. etc.  But don't make excuses for losing to teams that you have no business losing to.

No denying Rielly goofed on that pinch. Not sure what Hainsey was doing. He definitely made it worse.

But back to Rielly, he was having a great game and definitely on the whole is still a positive.

Polak on the other hand? The only time I notice him is when he is pinned in his own zone, or the puck is bouncing off his skate into the net(Seems to happen a lot) or when he can't tie up anyone in front of the net or when he is looking around like a moron not knowing what to do.

I must miss all the great things he does. He provides zero to this team.

So yeah Rielly,  made a bonehead play. But he also does a lot of great things. Polak just makes bonehead plays.

How was Polak responsible for the lose this evening.

No one player is responsible but he provided no positives towards them winning.

One puck went in off his skate. The other goal he couldn't tie up the Sens player  which is supposed to be what he is good at, no?
