1 year too late IMHO! Those darned Oilers!

Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater, had McDavid and couldn't keep him!
I hope he demands a trade to us in the very near future. We'll have Matthews to send their way!

Or wait until he hits UFA. We'll salivate until then and when he's in our grasp, we'll have overanalyzed his game to the point where we won't want him anymore because he's developed arthritis from breaking his hand fighting in junior and his collarbone didn't heal right and is prone to re-injury at any time and we'll be rebuilding again because we didn't do it right, so the timing will be all wrong to sign him anyway.

I feel that if the Leafs had gotten McDavid last year that it wouldn't have changed the last place position which obviously led to Matthews this year.

Anyway, who is the top prospect for the 2017 draft ?

I didn't watch any of the WHL this year so I only saw him at the Memorial Cup. He looked really pedestrian there. Granted he was playing as a 17 year old on a big stage and he had a really good season/playoffs.
