Yeah. It is also the league's 100th anniversary, so they're obviously trying to spread that part of things around.

Don't get me wrong but it is kind of funny that their 5th #1 pick is the breaking point for you.
 
Would they even take Matthews when what they really need is defense?  Nevermind, I guess they would.
 
The Oilers finishing last overall and dropping to the 4th overall pick would unite all non-Edmonton hockey fans in a "John Scott wins all-star MVP" level of happy.

I never expected them to get McDavid so it was almost comical but now it has turned to darkness.
 
Seriously. What in the world would be the problem with a rule saying you can't have the #1 pick in back to back years or 3 #1's in five years?

If the Hockey Gods are as cruel as I think they are, Leafs finish last, Tampa misses the playoffs and wins the lottery, the Leafs lose out on Stamkos, and Montreal squeaks in and wins the cup. Oh, and Edmonton gets the second overall pick (Leafs pick 4th).

I've thought this should be a rule as well.  They'll probably implement something like this after the Oilers win the first overall pick yet again.  Call it the "Oilers really suck" rule.

That would actually be worse in my mind than the Oilers winning it again.  Just cause I hate the Habs with a passion.

Very little structure to their game, basically no defensive awareness, not much talent outside in their bottom 6, and poor goaltending. We get distracted by their four 1st overall picks, but, outside of that, they've added very little talent - and one of those picks hasn't exactly added much to the roster. The very top of their lineup is great. The rest? Awful.
 
Why don't we send them Polak and Bernier/or Riemer for their first overall. Throw in PAP and any of our other rentals in the deal.
