Kessel and Booth got into it at practice today. I don't know if that's good or bad for tank nation.

Phil made an effort to do something at practice ?  ;) :)

According to Boston media, he got into it verbally with Julien at practice - more than once. And with Chara verbally at another practice in Atlanta. And with Recchi over his shoulder injury. It's not without precedent.

Were they arguing over which half of the season it's better to suck for?

Booth wins with that response.

Columbus wins again. They are not part of the equation anymore. It's surprising how they have pulled away.

Oilers are up in the 2nd. Could the Oilers catch the Leafs?

All this makes me wonder, who would you pick if you had the 3rd pick? What if you had the 2nd pick?

It'll go McDavid, Eichel, Hanifin, 1-2-3, regardless of what team is picking.

Strome and Marner likely to go next but it's not for certain.

6 games left each.

This may just be one of those late surges for Edmonton when the games don't matter, but they've been looked really good lately that makes me think that they may finally put things together next year and break out.

I am not sure how you can be sure of that. In fact, I doubt that all teams would agree on who # 2, 3, 4 and 5 are.

I would bet my house on McDavid-Eichel going 1-2. That is a certainty at this point.

Top 2 are an absolute lock... 3rd pick is a virtual lock unless a team picks for positional needs over pure talent, possible but unlikely. 4-5 are questionable for sure...

6 games, pfft, piece of cake.  The Leafs are so bad I bet they could blow that lead in 2 periods.

But it sadly remains pre-destined that after dropping in the draft order, the Oilers win the lottery again anyway.

I agree all these people fantasizing about the Leafs winning the lottery are setting themselves up for a massive letdown

They did just get Taylor Hall back, so that's likely part of why they've looked better. I still think they have too many holes to really break out - though, they could be like the Islanders and really just be a goalie away from looking like a decent team.

We don't need them to break out... just to win 2 games, cause you know we're tanking out the rest of the season...

What else is there to fantasize about though? Might as well have some fun with it. Not like I'll care that much when they don't win but it's fun for now
