Check out the pair of strikes from Newcastle's Papiss Ciss?.

Two fantastic goals against Chelsea.

The second one was my favorite - what a slice. What a year for Newcastle so far eh

What a finish in the EPL. City are champions. remarkable. amazing. One of the most amazing things I have ever seen from the world of sports. spectacular

Can't help but feel the EPL dodged a bullet today.  Watching the frustration in the Man City stands, people bawling, guys breaking the seats, I figured Manchester would have been in a full riot situation by sundown.  They deserved the win but were completely lucky after coughing up two goals and being one man up for the entire second half.  How much did this title cost them in player transfers?

If it wasn't for all the bad calls Man United would already have won the league. I think that the guardian or some other paper studied loads of games, and what they found out was that while United didn't get as many bad calls against as City, United did get a lot game deciding calls against them. Which is interesting considering how many other fans whine about United having advantages.

Imo City is just like Chelsea, they went at it hard, by buying anything that moves, and it wont last long term. Sir Alex said something interesting before the game, I didn't see it myself but it was something in the lines of "As long as humans are humans anything can happen".

United lost because City blew them out at OT at the start of the season

Meh, I think that they lost it in the end when they had several points in hand and then played crappy and lost points to teams that stink. On a side note, there's a rumour going around that Zlatan Ibrahimovic might be going to City to play for his old coach Mancini. I hope that it ain't true.

The Everton draw cost them the title, IMO. Up 4-2 with under 10 minutes left and finished with a draw. That loss to Wigan was another costly blow.

They recovered from the blowout at Old Trafford and were sitting pretty.

New assistant coach for the TFC --former captain Jim Brennan.

The TFC set a MLS futility record by losing to Sporting Kansas City last week, their 8th straight loss without a win.  Talk about a coaching change!

It was undeniably exciting but it was sort of just another example of how screwy soccer is. People getting that worked up over a victory by means of goal differential.

UEFA Champions League Final -- Chelsea at Bayern Munich today, 2PM on Rogers Sportsnet.

I'd give Bayern a slight advantage for the simple fact that they're on home turf.

We'd get pretty worked up of the leafs made the playoffs on a shoot out winner that tied them on points but we made it based on having more regulation/OT wins.

I can't see how getting worked up over a clubs first title in 44 years is screwy in any way, no matter how it was achieved, especially when it was that dramatic a finish.

Crown Chelsea UEFA soccer champions!  Didier Drogba not only scored to tie it in the 88th minute, but also scored the winner in the shootout.

Too bad Bayern couldn't win with the home turf advantage.  Job well done, Chelsea!

The TFC are now 0-9, losers 3-1 to DC United.  Ugh!  This is getting ugly!

I don't think we would. Teamsclinch playoff berths every year on the last day and people don't lose their minds over it.I realize it's been a long drought but 8th place wouldn't get parades marching.

A more apt comparison would be clinching the Presidents trophy on goal differential which doesn't carry much weight.

My point is less about the fans' reaction than it is the idea that a meaningful title of any sort can be decided by goal differential.
