2015 NHL Entry Draft - Draft Day!

Oh good Jeff Marek is relegated to live tweeting at the kids table with that random girl who runs the poll computer on HNIC.

But at least we have Damien Cox at the main desk "Calgary has built one of the best young defenses in the NHL. Dougie Hamilton, Mark Giordano...and the rest of them"

I'll confess, from a purely entertainment based perspective I'll be a little disappointed if the Leafs don't do something today.

Me too.  The Bruins can pull of some big deals, but, Shanahan and company appear to be standing around with their hands in their pockets doing nothing.

Yeah. It would be nice to have something Leaf-related to talk about other than who the team drafted.

They Leafs management actually skipped the draft, they're letting Paul Henderson make their picks. Dubas is springing for endless appetizers at TGI's.

Well, if only because at the end of the day there won't be much to say once the picks are made outside of "I hope they do well".

There will be a lot of "they should have drafted the other guy instead," but, yeah.

Wasn't Sportsnet trying to sell us this Sam Cosentino guy as a Baseball analyst a few years ago?

No he's all around good or something.  Damien Cox has tried to cram Provorov into every statement he makes too.  Pretty comical so far.

Sportsnet is trying to push the belief that Rask is in play. I don't buy it, but it would mean all of the pieces they've picked from the Leafs over the years would be gone.

Oh, if they keep doing human interest pieces and interviews with prospects I really might have to watch this on mute.

I don't know, their good guys are all about 30, and Chara is only human...maybe they don't want to go the Red Wings route.

Reports of Zaidorov, Grigorenko and #31 overall for Ryan O'Reilly.

That seems a little steep, I suppose Grigorenko's stock has tanked, perhaps rejoining Roy can fix that.

Man, I have the NBC feed and it's actually pretty good. Although I have McKenzie, et. al and not Cox.

So...Eichel, Ennis, O'Reilly down the middle?  Is O'Reilly better than Ennis?  I don't know if this makes much sense for Buffalo.

And Reinhart in the chamber.

Yup. Katz brought his kid up on stage again. That's why you're a bunch of losers.

And Chiarelli just thanked "the city of Florida".

St. Louis is displeased.

He's just trying to fit it.
