2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Waiving Ritchie is a great move. If someone claims him, fine. If he passes you can start to bring him up and down as needed. And maybe he restores his confidence a little bit playing in the A. Like someone else mentioned, he was starting to play better before the break. Maybe this is a wake up call he needed.

If Ritchie gets claimed (which I think could actually happen) it would open up enough cap space for the Leafs to have a full 23-man roster. That'd come in hand for what will be a very busy March/April schedule.

With the taxi squad, we could run 21 and net some space for the deadline.

I knew he was a bit of a reclaimation project but man he showed negative value.
He was good the last while, minus last night's backcheck..tells me the Leafs are going to reward Liljegren and Sanding for their good play...I think of Ritchie doesn't get claimed he can get his game back in the A. Still have hope it can work out for all involved and he can contribute when it counts.

I'll be very surprised if he doesn't get claimed.

I think the Leafs could use his size in the playoffs.

I dunno, he's not quite as bad as the Goat in this regard but like LK said earlier he doesn't throw his body around nearly enough for it to be something that's seen as a significant positive in his game.

More than anything, size is irrelevant if you're not in the play. Say what you will about Mikheyev's shooting and Engvall's soft play and occasional brain farts, they are on the puck and use their length to break up and generate plays.

For the next thing I'd like to manifest...

I'm pretty sure somewhere in our post histories we both claimed Nylander might be better than Marner.

Mostly because we're smart, perceptive people.

Just don't be late getting on the Josh Ho-Sang train.
