He doesn't have a huge resume but 7 total NHL games now and he's 5-2 with a .922% Certainly looks more promising than Sparks early returns. It's a long way off but we may have finally developed a goalie for ourselves
I have a feeling that last night was Woll's biggest game of his career.
I think Dubas showcased him, and he's gone for an experienced backup today.
Dubas won't survive if goaltending is what downs the Leafs these playoffs.
The leafs finally have a promising goaltender prospect, and you'd move him for backup rental?
Can't see any logic there. Hard pass.
I think Dubas is all in on this year. If Murray can't contribute, you're putting a lot on Woll...also, Woll has a whole bunch of injury history, and might be at peak value at the moment.
I'm just suggesting that MLSE would be out for blood if goaltending is what sinks this run.
Oh, I totally agree that the pressure is on Dubas for post season success. But I think the high risk murray deal he signed pretty much locks him philosophically in to the scenario he's in now - unless he's legit unusable, in which case he should have been on waivers long ago.
Sending good assets after bad is more a mark of desperation than good management, imo. Maybe he'll pick up another averagish vet backup option, but it doubt he'd pay anything above a 3rd rounder.
