2023-24 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I'm behind enemy lines lads, been in Montreal since yesterday, had to ensure seeing the awful Habs logo on a building no less. How can anyone stand to live in this godforsaken place?

Touring McGill and Queens universities with my middle daughter as she is applying starting this fall.

Putting aside the habs, Montreal is an awesome city. I?m born and raised in Toronto but I have tons of family there and usually go at least 2x a year.

Would I live there? Probably not, but I love visiting.

Not as good as Gregor, or good enough to sub for Marner?

I mean there's no way Marner's playing tomorrow. And with Jarnkrok out too it really limits the options if you don't want to only have 1 line with Willy up there.

Maybe week to week but that looked like it will be a few weeks.

EDIT: Mark Masters reported his hand was in a cast.

It?s a really fantastic city. Having visited both Toronto and Montreal I actually really loved both, but just in very different ways. Montreal definitely has that European vibe to it and is maybe a little more laid back.

I did go and see the Habs when I was there. The only time in my life I ever actively supported Nashville at anything.

Lyubushkin is sore. A maybe for tomorrow.

Marner has shifted from day to day - a little longer than that.

I had a smoked meat sandwich at Schwartz's and it was amazing, so there is that

I went there with my partner last summer and it was *delicious.*  They apparently have a Michelin star too.

Much better set up. I just find, with no actual numbers, that they tend to overpass it with 44 there. I'll give them credit to at least trying different things. And I like that he's sticking with JT with the kids after having Domi on his wing a few games ago.

'Tis the season to experiment, but they really ought to include more people in their special teams meetings earlier in the season, otherwise you're stuck with Nylander as option #1 in an empty-net PK situation if Kampf takes a penalty while Marner/Jarnkrok are busted.

McMann is starting to get looks on the PK. I think the addition of Dewar will help. I whould give Knies another look there. Would Tavares really be a bad option? Guy has amazing hands and is leading the league on FO%. He's taken 1 SH FO this season. Kampf is under 50%. The PK hasn't been great all year so agree, experiment away.
