Coronavirus

The worst part about this is we are so insanely close to driving cases down to a point of being manageable, especially with vaccines on the way. Why are Steve Smith'ing this?

It's the same answer as the other two times. This government, the party it represents, simply does not care how many people get sick and/or die if it means the business interests of the people who give them money are spared even a momentary hiccup.
But it inevitably will also be worse economically. Opening and closing repeatedly is more costly than doing it as few times as possible.

Sure but nobody is accusing them of being geniuses either. If they think they can re-open and that vaccinations will eventually make things good again without the need for another shutdown they'll do it and shrug their shoulders if they get it wrong.

Got my first COVID test today. Not fun, but not as bad as a swab up the urethra.

Hope it goes well. What are your symptoms that made you go get one if you don?t mind me asking?

If you have kids in school, the requirements are pretty wild. I semi-jokingly tell the kids that even if you fart now in class they?ll force you and the family to get tested.

Haha. My wife gets tested weekly. There are 2 different ones so far. One up the nose to the brain and the other they do both nostrils but not to the brain.

Mostly due to potential exposure. I've had a mild tingling/burning in my chest for a couple of days and a bit into my throat and some headaches. Positive kid in school > exposure to nephew (in the kid's class) > exposure to my son > to me. So, definitely not a direct exposure scenario, but I'm scheduled to be in a number of people's homes in the next week for work, so I'm being cautious. My nephew's test came back negative today, so everything's probably fine.

Good luck!

I got my second shot last week.  I also worked a vaccination clinic on Sunday finishing up some of our LTC/Retirement Home stuff in the community.  We are inching closer to starting community vaccination.  It's still a big mess but at least we are making some small gains on the vaccination front.

I live in Thunder Bay. We quickly went from a place with one of the lowest incidences to one of the highest, per capita. Schools have been fantastic up until recently. Looks like they're going to move to all online learning very soon.

I saw TBay's numbers the other day. I didn't know it was so bad lately. I hadn't really watched since the Lac Des Iles scare early in the Pandemic.

Is this just an issue of not having tight enough survellance on schools?
