Dave Bolland

This came out of nowhere.  Just this week we were thinking he'd never play for the Leafs again, wasn't practicing regularly and now all of a sudden he's on a line at practice?

Yeah, this seems pretty sudden. I hope it's not just a desperation attempt to try and save the season.

I think it looks sudden, but really isn't.  His setback occurred on March 2nd, and he probably needed at least a week before he was ready to practice again.  Well, one week later was when the Leafs left for California and he didn't accompany them on the trip.  This is the first Leafs practice in Toronto since returning from that trip, so he very well may have been skating for the past week on his own and was just waiting for the team to return to rejoin them.

With the exception of Ranger, Saturday could be the first game the full lineup has been ready to go all year long.

Crazy, but good.

Don't forget Bonathan Jernier

Carlyle says:

@reporterchris

Carlyle on Bolland: "It's getting close to a decision on whether he can play for us tomorrow or in the next game."

ya he too.

He is practicing as well. Full practice from what I hear so he's likely back too.

My goodness... a full lineup? I don't know what to think.

Oh, is David Clarkson finally going to play too? ;)

If Bolland does save the season does he get an extension?

If Bolland does return tomorrow vrs. Montreal, I expect him to look brutal. (Not David Clarkson brutal, but brutal all the same).

Its going to take at least a week or two for him to find his rhythm. I'll be impressed if he can get back to his form from the start of the season by the time the playoffs begin. But, this is great news. Lets hope he rediscovers his game sooner rather than later!

Either that or full-on awesome for a game or two, and then a crash back to Earth for a week or so.

Leafs could use full on awesome Saturday and Sunday.  Those 4 points will go a long way to the team regaining confidence.

Bolland may contribute simply by having his teammates fired up for his return.  If he plays I really expect the team to be flying Saturday night regardless of his level of play.

Confidence is great and all but I think earning those points for the sole purpose of actually making the playoffs is more important ;)

How is this "sudden" and "out of nowhere"?  It's almost exactly the complete opposite.  He was rumoured to be back before the olympics...he took an extra month or so.  He has been cleared by doctors for awhile.  If he's not ready, i'm sure he wouldn't be playing.

I mean it's sudden in the sense that he hasn't been practicing with the team at all lately. Coco brought up that the team has been on the road for awhile so that might explain it, but if he was that close then you'd think he'd had gone with the team and practiced with them. It's just odd to see an injured player take part in one full practice and be ready to play the next day.
