I expect Ottawa to go up 3-1 early in the third, the Leafs will be flat, but get one with under 3 minutes left and be all over the Sens.

Ottawa wins 3-2.

Leafs come out with a big effort in the 3rd. 4-2 Leafs, Bozak with the empty net goal.

I sincerely hope you are correct.

Blame Scrivens on that one for his handling of the shot but score is flattering I feel. Been out played for the most part. Team has made some progress this season but games like this that annoy the heck out of you and I'm sure the coaches. Has anyone taken the body especially in our own end. Guys just fishing for the puck. I agree with an earlier post should have taken the body to them right from the get go. Senators got nothing to answer back with other than Neil who I can't stand and wish he gets pummelled by someone in the 3rd. Oh well hopefully they can salvage something with a good 3rd period.

Huh, he made the stop had the puck at his pads, if 400 lbs weren't suddenly on his doorstep he would have easily been able to cover up, as it was all he could do was try to kick it out, fluke goal but not his fault whatsoever.

That goal was very fitting for how this game has been played.

I expect them to just roll over in the 3rd.
Aren't you just a ray of sunshine?

Yeah well, I really enjoy Saturday night hockey games and I get a little cranky when the team I watch looks like they left their game in the hotel.

I get that, but I thought it was an entertaining period nonetheless.

Yeah there were 7 or 8 minutes of sloppy end to end play that was pretty cool, but nothing came of it so it doesn't make up for the 30+ minutes that the Leafs have been outplayed by the Binghamton Senators.

You have to wonder what Holzer is thinking running his own goalie over like that.  A little bit of finesse would serve him well.

In fairness to Holzer it was try to hit him or just basically leave him alone in front of the net with a rebound. It was Captain Phan-tastic who shouldn't have let him skate right by.
What part of he plays tough minutes do you not understand?

I guess being down 2-1 heading to the third period against Sens on the road is better than how they used to beat us 7-1 in the past, what 6 or 7 years ago.

I know it's a luxury you can't expect but it really is a shame that there's no one guy on the Leafs who I'm confident is really going to bring it the way I'd use to say that Gilmour or Sundin would definitely lead the way in a tough 3rd.

The officials appear to be deciding this game by their incompetence.

I think the Leafs need to be playing at least five times better than they are to start complaining about the officials.

Guess what the refs forgot

Yeah, because the level of play dictates how the officials do their jobs.

They're playing poorly enough to lose regardless.

Maybe, but it's a one goal game, with blown calls all over the place. I'd rather the referee's have nothing to do with any potential outcome. If the Leafs lose, I'd prefer they do it on their own.
