True, but we all knew he was likely going to get injured at some point this season, but I think Buffalo's criticism about him was more than just injuries.

I don't really get this line of thought though. Was he not fully healthy? Does he have a degenerative condition that makes injuries a likelihood? It's not like he has the roughest style of play so it's not like that was going to get him hurt.

The way I remember discussion about the signing it was that while he'd been injured a lot in the past it would be a good signing if he could stay healthy.

Your version of the signing is correct, but there was a sense he was injury prone much like how Antropov and Colaiacovo used to be. Many, myself included, said 60 games played would be a good benchmark for him. Barring any further injuries he'll exceed that.

But again, I get the sense that Buffalo fans felt like he didn't have a strong compete level, but maybe I'm wrong in that. But it was clear they derided and laughed at our signing of Connolly as a useless signing while Leino was a stroke of genius, when many felt Leino's numbers were inflated by Briere.

So far I'd say Connolly has been far more successful than Leino despite being injured for ten or so games.

Gustavsson body checked to the ice.  Not hard or anything, but I feel like if that was another teams goaltender a penalty gets called.

But hey, call a penalty against the Leafs for that by the far referee half the ice away.

I'm pretty sure the league just clarified that plays like that are penalties. Obviously, that play excluded.

Or an official who knows the rule.

All I can say to that is: "LOL". Seriously? No call on the hit on Goose and they call Rosehill on that. Apparently, the refs felt bad that the Leafs scored 2 on their PPs.

seems like the most logical explanation really.

But with Antro there was always the sense that he had bad knees/bad luck and with Coli there was always the sense that the way he sort of recklessly  threw himself around was the cause behind his injuries.

Again, I'm not making a statement here, I'm genuinely curious. Why should we assume Connolly will get hurt? That he got hurt in the past isn't really an answer.

I hate the NHL sometimes. There were too many PPs to the Leafs so the ref was determined to call the next one against us regardless of our goalie getting hit from behind.

That's about all you can say. That ref clearly saw it and chose to not call a clear penalty.

Before we diss you for being late, um..what kind of cookies?
