Game 30: Hurricanes @ Leafs - Dec 13th, 2011 - 7pm EST W 2-1 (OT)

How was that not a penalty?

He totally took out Kulemins left leg.  That was the first (and I think only) thing he hit!!

Looks like Kulemin's got his legs going again. I get the feeling he may have been less than 100% so far - he hasn't looked as quick as he has tonight in a while.

That's what I thought too

On the replay, it didn't look like he got a piece of the puck at all!  Don't know why they wouldn't call that a trip.

WTF I remember Kessel in another game getting held up by a guy who followed him halfway across the blue line on a dump in and no call...now this

The reffing this year is the worst ever

Oh come on.

Kulemin was literally stopped in his tracks in the 1st period when Grabovski tried to flip a pass over the Carolina D to him - but THAT is interference?  Give me a break.

I've never done so much complaining about officiating as I have the last week.  It has been absolutely terrible.

What a ridiculous call against Phaneuf.

That was borderline but I think those type of calls should be made ALL of the time.  As I said Kessel got blocked like that halfway across the blue line a few games ago and nothing.  With our speed if that was called consistently it would be a benefit.

He looked real good on that backhand chance.  I wish that had gone in for him.

If they called that all the time there would be 10+ PP's each per game.

Sure if they played like now but eventually they should learn to change their game (that is the point of these rules after all, not penalties but to change the way the game is played) and start chasing the pucks instead of always running interference.

I think the game is so fast now that you need to allow a bit of that or guys are going to get killed.
