Game 5: Maple Leafs @ Rangers - Saturday January 26th, 2013 - CBC 19:00

As disappointing the loss to the Islanders was, winners do lose.  But what they do is learn from it, not repeat.  Carlyle has been quick to correct, so hopefully we see some changes from the last game.  The lower-end guys seem to learn the message the quickest.  Maybe Carlyle will have to knock one of the big names off their pedestal.  Hopefully Kessel and Phaneuf can combine for more points then Gunnarsson without compromising their defensive play.

I'm not sure why but this game feels important. Almost like it's a bounce game after looking lousy in two games and good in two.

I think it's important as well. If they respond by playing well and getting back to the things they've done well, that's obviously good - almost regardless of the final result. But if they get blown out and don't get back to the things they've done well, the breaking of fragile team confidence going back to last season could send them into a fatal spin. They can't recover from a long losing streak this season - it's too short of a season.

Franson and Steckel are the last ones still on the ice. Those are your likely scratches tonight.

And I have a hard time believing Newbury is.

No, that part is true, though he's only played in 1 of their 4 games so far - though, he may have been sent back to the AHL.

Yup, he was sent back down yesterday. Rangers 4th line at the morning skate today was Ferriero-Halpern-Asham.

Here's hoping for good game .... Win or Tom will be looking for you guys... He looks so much like a crime boss :)

Rangers are a far better team than the Leafs. Hopefully this one is still close in the third period.

That said, go Leafs go? :)

Yep. He knows where Jimmy Hoffa is buried, but if he told us, he'd have to kill us. All of us.

Jesus, Lundqvist is almost as handsome as I am.

EDIT:  Ok, I'm a couple of notches below McEnroe.

Well, we have no chance tonite.  Healy says so.

You never want to see anyone get hit with a puck.  That being said, I hope Healy gets hit with a puck.

Seeing the problems Dion has hitting the net, Glenn should stay ready.

I just have to reiterate how much I like Yakupov's goal celebration.  Being genuinely happy when you score a goal and aren't directly rubbing it in the face of your opponent, I love it.
