Not to get the fighting argument started back up again, but I'd love to see him to throttle Lucic tonight.

+1

I'm no fan of Lucic, but why?  Will it inspire Kessel to go into the corners?  I mean, if there's no tangible effect, other than to make some fans feel better, then what's the point?  I'm talking about a staged fight, of course, not a "natural" one that involves stuff like anger.

Well, other than really disliking Lucic, I think it would send a message.

We will not be intimidated by your tough guys anymore.

Might be a bit of a small sample size to rule him completely ineffective on the draw.

Sample size definitely leaves something to be desired.  But I contest the trend will continue, perhaps not at a 28% pace, but similar futility is likely.

There's no real reason to think that unless -- and while this could be, I rather doubt it -- he depends for most of his wins on handing the puck.  Far too early to write him off.

I agree with you re McLaren, and mostly with regard to Orr.  I would say that Orr has actually scored a few goals over the years, so technically not entirely useless.

I doubt Chara would heed that message.

Chara gets off his game when you hit him consistently on the forecheck, he proved it in the playoffs when Roberts bullied him, the real test will be if we can get JVR, Komarov and Kulemin and others to fill him in everytime he goes near his end boards.

Leafs' Reimer v Bruins' Rask tonight; MacArthur (finger) still out while waiver pickup Frazer McLaren expected to make TO debut

I think the Leafs will do better tonight compared to previous years but it's still going to be a really tough fight for them.  I really think having all the tough guys in the lineup is going to make a big difference to the team.  Guys like Kessel will have more confidence and won't have to worry so much about getting pushed around.

Because A) I really dislike him (though I'd probably love to have him on my team) and B) I think the Leafs would stand a better chance of winning if he wasn't on the other side. Fair enough?

Went to see Silver Linings with my wife last night.  Drinking red wine like grapes are going extinct. If the Leafs knock off the Bruins tonight I will be a blubbering idiot!

I don't know why but I have a pretty good feeling about tonight's game.  I usually dread the games versus Boston as the Leafs usually get destroyed.  I somehow think they will put up a fight tonight.  Are both Orr and that new tough guy definitely in the lineup?

That's disarmingly honest.

Word is they were caught sparring with eachother out back of the ACC so I guess that means yes.

Either it's going to be happy tears or sad tears tonight
