Game 8 - Leafs @ Flyers - Monday Oct 24th 2011 - 19:00 EST - 4-2 Loss

They're calling a penalty on that?  Jeez, they've let so much stuff of the obstruction variety go tonight.  That play where Phaneuf turned it over, he was being hooked the whole way into the zone.

Man what an ugly period. This game would be long over if not for Gustavsson. Too bad he almost had that 2nd goal :(

Grabbo looks a little more stubborn on the puck than last year and doesn't seem to be knocked down as often, good to see.

for a team that didin't had a SoG untill the midway mark of the period, they manage to fire 11 at Gus before they get one past him.

Anyway he has been playing great.

No Meltdown please, get back at then, this is winable.

Agreed. We kill off the penalty and then get some momentum swing and we're definitely be in a position to at least get the tying goal.

He did have it until Hartnell jammed it in. If he was covered there wouldn't be a goal.

Also: Bryzgalov was in net for the first??

I just can't believe how bad our PK is year after year. Unreal.

Its Wilsons specialty

They've changed the coaching staff and it's not Wilson that's the one responsible for the PK. Keith Acton was previously if I recall. I'm not sure who's 'in charge' now.

So the only constant is Wilson then?

Which makes him easy to blame but we're not getting in lanes and not aggressively going after the puck in my opinion but I think it's execution and not strategy.

Keep your sticks down!! FFS!!

I think the Flyer sold that pretty hard, as I didn't even see the stick get that high. I mean, he was on the ice flat out, but he he was able to high stick the guy.

Is that what the call was?  Because it didn't even look like he touched him with his stick, or that the player even reacted like he did.

EDIT:  Well the penalty was on MacArthur and I was looking at Kulemin on the replay so that might have something to do with it.

I'm going on what Millen was saying, so don't hold me to it. Then he said it could have been the play before, but I didn't believe that, so maybe they will show us the exact play after the break.

Jagr still getting re-accustomed to the speed of the NHL game...but no worries tonight he still makes Schenn and Komisarek look like they have cinder blocks on their feet.
