General Leafs Talk: Post-Olympics Edition

Well....If this 'is' it for he Leafs this season, I guess the only positives to take from it will be.... a higher draft pick, a chance in the summer to address and hopefully repair the defense, and the knowledge of knowing that missing out was largely due to Bernier's injury. (Something that should be longed resolved by the time next season rolls around) We should be back with a better, more mature club.

Oh.... I almost forgot to mention....for those of you that blame Carlyle for all the woes...  He'll most certainly be replaced should they fail to make it......

Too soon???

Things change, but pretty much the only meaningful game tonight is probably the Rangers game.  They are down 2-0 against Phoenix after 1 period.

Montreal is playing against Boston (up 1-0)
And Ottawa is playing Tampa (tied 1-1)

Yeah. If Tampa or Montreal win tonight, and the Leafs lose tomorrow, you can pretty much write off passing them. Those two games are only marginally meaningful right now.

So that Marty St. Louis.  3 assists in 10 games.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the Rangers won in OT.

They pull ahead of the Flyers, who lost, but have a couple games in hand. Metro teams ahead of the Leafs are putting distance between themselves and Columbus/Washington, and starting to take themselves out of the equation.

Tampa and Montreal both go to OT. Tampa will have just under 2 minutes of PP time to start the OT as well.

Watching both because I hate myself.
