Joffrey Lupul

:(
:'(

He has a brain injury.  Shocking!  One thing I've really admired about Lupul is he doesn't have an aversion to speaking his mind.  Really refreshing given the sort of tripe you regularly hear about injuries.

I really hope he has a chance to recover and at least be ready to come back for the playoffs.  Given the energy he displayed when he came back this season, I can't imagine what a catalyst he'll be for his team come playoff time.

That article didn't really say anything more than what we know. He is taking it cautiously. I mean if he didn't have some kind of lingering effects he would have been back already. I would expect him back Saturday or the next game just based on what he said.

@bigdaddymcgill: Lupes skates w/ the guys who didn't play last night. He looked very good out there. I'm sure it won't be long until he returns! #TMLtalk

jonasTSN1050: Joffrey Lupul participating in Leafs practice today, albeit in non-contact sweater.

markhmasters: Joffrey Lupul has stayed out for the start of Leafs practice

Still no contact, I think that rules him out for Sat night then in what should be a high spirited Habs game.  That leaves a back to back Mon and Tue and I wouldn't say he would be ready for that either even if he says he is 100%.  He may be ready for Tuesday the back end of the back to back as they would likely give him the extra day.  My guess though is Thursday though against the Isles if I were a betting man.

I say keep him out and give him time.  Leafs aren't desperate for wins, why rush him?  I'd rather have him back at 100% for the playoffs.

I have to agree with you on your point. Although I would really like to see Kadri start getting hot again.

I'd let the doctors make that call.

while no one (except maybe Lupul himself) wants him back in the lineup more than me or LupulBear, I'd rather he sat out until he's totally better. The playoff picture's looking pretty good for the Leafs, no need to risk him now. IMHO.

We knew he had a concussion. It wasn't being cynical to think that...especially given the way Carlyle was cryptically dancing around that word.

Every team in the league is the same when it comes to the "C" word.

Well, that's the problem. Using that word makes people panic and because of that they're hesitant to say it. Obviously concussions vary with severity and symptoms though. It could be a very mild one and symptoms go away quick.

And even if it wasn't one, at this point they couldn't call it anything else without being ripped on further because a ton of people had their minds made up about what it was when it happened.

It's good they've clarified it, although the exact injury is of less concern to myself than when a player is going to play.  That's all I really care about, they can call it whatever they want as long as behind the scenes he's getting the proper treatment.
