Leafs 2013/2014 Schedule in 10 game chunks

Well, I'm done making predictions.  Who would have thought Leafs would lose all 3 games to Columbus this season.  If that's the difference between playoffs or not, they should be ashamed.

No more games before the trade deadline.  Let's see if anything happens.

Well, there's one win post Olympic break.  Need the game on Saturday before this brutal 5 game road trip.

Next 3 games are crucial.  Washington, Detroit and Tampa, all teams in the playoff hunt with the Leafs.  Win those 3 games and the playoffs are secured.

Next 5 games, really, to include Montreal and Philly.

Yeah missed the Habs in there in game 4.  Philly doesn't show up until game 7.  By that time I think the playoff picture will be more clear, at least in terms of if the Leafs have a comfortable cushion or not.  Right now the gap is 9 points on Detroit (although they have games in hand)  If the Leafs can maintain or extend that gap with 10 or so to go, it's all but assured they're in.

The game against Detroit becomes huge, that's a 4 point swing.  Wings *should* beat the Oilers, and lose to the Hawks, so we'll see how it goes.

Two games left against the Wings, two against the Lightning. Those four will likely decide whether we make the playoffs or not.

I honestly can't see the Leafs missing the playoffs at this point.  I suppose if they lose all 4 against Detroit and Tampa, but really what are the chances of that?  Leafs have played both fairly well this season.

Wings need 10 wins in 15 games to reach 93 points.  Leafs need 7 wins in 13 games to reach 94 points so mathematically the odds are in the Leafs favour.

Big week for the team. Win all 3, and I think we can safely say they're in. Lose all 3, and they'll likely be walking the tightrope. Somewhere in between . . . well, that's a much murkier area.

4-3-2 so far with one to go.

Not including tomorrow's game against Detroit, the next stretch of games to the end of the season, has the Leafs playing mostly at home (7) and only 3 on the road.  Not bad, actually.

I'd be pretty surprised too. But you never know. The Wings in particular could still be a big threat. They're 7 points back but have 2 less games played. So combine that with the two games they have against us and that gap could disappear.

Unfortunate that they couldn't squeeze a point out of any of those losses, especially considering the number of points they've given away to other teams by going to OT this season.
