Leafs 2013/2014 Schedule in 10 game chunks

I have not missed a game yet, but this may spoil my Christmas, so I will just peak in on things for a while. this team is broken, and it seems Carlyle can't get it fixed. Nonis Its your move!

Starting to agree with Nutman, Carlyle was the wrong choice, Eakins is starting to work his way with Edmonton, yes it takes some time but they are coming around. The Leafs were his team to grow into, his boys. I thought Burke did a great job but saddling us with Carlyle was a mistake. His team out West tuned him out and I think that may be happening now with our team.  Looks like we will have to have a major losing streak to get rid of him.

Since the 6-1 start, the Leafs are 8-9-3 in their last 20 games and heading into the toughest stretch of the season.  Ominous signs if things don't turn around fast.

Only 2 wins in this chunk.  Leafs need to win the next 3 just to make it to the magical 5 out of 10 games.  Holy it's looking bleak.

Interestingly, the Leafs have the exact same number of points after 27 games this season as they did after 27 last season.  (15-11-1) last season, (14-10-3) now.

In comparison over 27 games:

2013
Playoff teams:  8-6-1
Non-playoff teams: 7-5-0
2013-2014
Playoff teams: 5-5-2
Non-playoff teams: 9-4-1

Sharks will be tough of course. Dallas is missing Seguin and Robidas so we catch a bit of a break there. Ottawa is a toss-up

Yeah not much to choose, the team is playing horribly this set of 10.  Last season they had a similar slump going 4-4-2 in the third set of 10 and then ripped it up in the 4th set going 6-1-3....i'd be amazed if they can right this ship and go on a tear this time around.

vs SHARKS: loss
vs STARS: loss
@SENATORS: win
vs BOSTON: loss

I think the Leafs can beat the Stars if they play their best.  Otherwise your assessment looks good.
Please don't infect this chunk of 10 with Boston, thank you, we hate Boston.

Here's a preview of the next chunk of 10.. Those first 5 games...oh man, it could potentially be 0-5 the way they're playing right now.

Agree on Boston. They are scum. Hate is a mild word to use to describe feelings towards them.

Leafs win the next 2 and go 4-4-2 in this stretch, same as last season's chunk.  So let it be written.

Why do the Leafs have to face the Bruins twice as the 2nd game of a back-to-back?  :-[  At least they play the night before this time as well.

To teach them how to close out a playoff round on a back-to-back game 7.

Good to see green again.  More to come on Saturday.

Best we can go is 4-4-2 in this chunk, which considering the 5 game losing streak, is at least "ok".  As i've pointed out before, the Leafs had the exact same 4-4-2 slump in the third chunk last season...coincidence?

Here's the fourth chunk which begins Sunday.

My faith in your prediction for last nights win paid off Zee. Confidence levels are on the rise across the board!!

It will be funny to look back at the panic that ensued if this great "regression" turns out to be a run of .500 hockey.  If that is as bad as it gets, LOL.

I think this recent bad patch will be as bad as it gets, providing we get some players off the IR soon, without any more going down. This team, when relatively healthy, is the best we've seen in many, many years. I'm sticking with that assessment, and chalking most of the recent woes up to the injury bug.

Let's hope.  That fourth chunk is nasty in the first 5 games.  4 of the 5 games are against recent cup winners, and the 5th team is the always tough St. Louis Blues.  Work is cut out for this team.
