Good Lord, going back to chunk 3, eight of the last ten games have been a loss of some sort.  8 out of 10.

There has been a lot of negativity lately, and that is completely understandable considering the horrendous slide that has happened. But I'm not about to write this team off just yet. I saw a pretty good team in October and part of November that made me believe that this was a young team on the rise. There is still plenty of time for redemption, and once Bolland and Bozak return, and providing we don't see anymore major injuries, I think they may surprise us and rediscover the game they played earlier in the season when they were chalking up victories.

This team is way better then it is playing. this team should be top four. There is an issue that needs to be addressed, ASAP.

More than an issue though.

-  Our "system" is one where we get outshot EVERY GAME.
-  We also get outworked every game.
-  Our big UFA signing, Clarkson, has sucked beyond belief.
-  Bolland and Bozak are hurt.
-  Our PK has TANKED.
-  Our defence is extremely poor and lacks at least 1 more top end guy.
-  We are playing far too many guys who probably shouldn't even be in the NHL right now:  Ranger/Fraser/Mclaren/Orr/Ashton/Smith/maybe Holland/etc.
-  We are taking a lot of penalties.
-  We've lost confidence.
-  We are a poor faceoff team.

I mean, at the end of the day, we have a laundry list of issues.

I appreciate that you've recently scaled back on the relentless optimism, but "top four"?  That's simply nonsense.  We're not even top four in the Eastern Conference, and there are probably at least 8 teams that are better than us in the West.  We are, at best, a bubble playoff team.  And that's at best.

I stand corrected, lots of issues.. By saying top four It was directed at the eastern conference. I don't care the fact how there playing they, are better..

When Nutman goes negative alll hope is lost, abandon ship my mates, shut down this site and all get lives?time to roll out some Bacardi and cokes and watch reruns of Gilligans Island.

I see GREEN!!!  Finally.  I predict a big win tonight against a Malkin-less Pens and then the schedule gets easier:

90 points seems like it could be the target to earn one of the two wild card spots in the East this season. To reach that target, the Leafs need have 6 more regulation wins than regulation losses the rest of the way. They have to play at a .563 point percentage clip.
