See, the great thing is we really got to the bottom of whether or not Byron Frooze adds nothing to the 4th line or just essentially nothing.

It's basically my greatest accomplishment.

"... so I busted out Excel ...."

Somewhere, Cliff Fletcher's dear old grey head just burst into flames like a big old Baked Alaska.

See, the great thing is we really got to the bottom of whether or not Byron Frooze adds nothing to the 4th line or just essentially nothing.

I should have known better than to trust a player that wears 56. Darn you, you stupid 56ing 56er!

At this point I was pretty curious, what is Froese's actual faceoff winning percentage in the defensive zone? So I busted out excel and his game log and manually entered all his faceoff stats from each games faceoff summary report. It was a little tedious but it didn't actually take that long. I confirmed the numbers with the winning percentages in his game log and with his per game totals from WOI so I'm pretty confident these are accurate. Here's his ACTUAL breakdown:

You are a (n internet) hero to the people.

I hope you used a pivot table.

So...he still sucks?

Yeah, but now we're on firmer ground.

There is a tiny pic of him in this week's printed THN as our team's "rookie to watch" or some such.  So Baron Freeze did get his 15 minutes of immortality anyhoo.

If your employer read this thread I'm fairly sure they'd spontaneously combust.

You're pretty much Kyle Dubas.

:'( :-* 8)

I'm afraid that my position on advanced stats leaves me cold to your pleas of analysis.  There is only one absolute.  Everything Froese's.

So one of the knuckleheads on TSN radio was saying just now that, although he hasn't played much, the Leafs must really value Corrado since they haven't put him on waivers yet. Is that even a possibility?

It's quite possible.  They could view him as a guy who isn't NHL ready but they don't want to lose him.  I feel bad for the guy.  22 year old players shouldn't sit in the pressbox all season.  I mean sure, he gets the ride around the NHL team but he need playing time to develop, not practices.  I'm sure he will play once they trade Polak at the deadline.

For some reason I didn't think a team could put a waiver claim back on waivers.

EDIT: at least in the same season.

I'm more or less self employed.

Anyone here have any experience with VPNs and stuff for getting around Gamecentre's blackout restrictions? I realized a little while ago that I have a free subscription with my Rogers account and my Hockeystreams account is expiring soon. Gamecentre also apparently made some real big changes recently so I'm willing to give it a shot.

You're the reason this country's economy is on it's knees!  ;)

It helps that he's the only rookie on the roster getting regular playing time.

I use that one, I like it because you can set your location to pretty much anywhere you like.

I can use it to watch local content in almost any country that interests me.

I've used it to download torrents too and didn't notice a significant drop off in download speed either.

EDIT: I wanted to add that I like the paid service because a lot of sites, like BBC Iplayer have started blocking the IP ranges of the conventional free VPN services and I imagine a lot of other sites will do the same.

It could also likely be a case of the management (or at least certain parts of it) really liking him but Babcock maybe not seeing it.
