There is a tiny pic of him in this week's printed THN as our team's "rookie to watch" or some such.  So Baron Freeze did get his 15 minutes of immortality anyhoo.

It helps that he's the only rookie on the roster getting regular playing time.

True.  Still, they could have run a silhouette head outline instead.

They'd have about the same impact on the Leafs' fortunes.

I'd rather have the inanimate carbon rod.

How'd you do that?

Something I've been thinking about, early'ish last month after another embarrassing loss Babcock made a comment something along the lines of "What do you expect from this group?".

I think in the moment it was harsher than he intended and he came out the next day and clarified things a little, gave the usual stock responses about hard work and scoring by committee.

It really seems like the team has completely checked out since that night, I wonder if they're so weak mentally that when they got a glimpse of a coach who is not as unwavering in his belief in them as they thought, they all folded again.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs and I'm probably reading a little too much into it, I'm just really looking forward to getting rid of a large chunk of this team.

Their skating has looked noticeably slower to me these past 3 weeks or more.  Maybe they just don't have the horses to play Babcock's puck possession game over the long haul.

Also, the complete evaporation of the PP.  Again, attributable to lack of skill, compounded the loss of JVR.

I think I lean more toward physical causes than mental, but who knows.

Just joining in after putting my monster, err, son, to bed. Have the Leafs unveiled the new logo yet? Do we get to discuss the terrible kerning?

We totally get to nerd out on the typography.

I wanted to look up what Froese's FO% was at in the defensive zone tonight but I have literally no idea how to get to the faceoff summary report on the new NHL.com, or if it even still exists.

After about 30 minutes on the new site, I've managed to find out that Patrick Kane is leading the league in scoring.

Its eye opening to look back at those sittler goals on his ten pointer highlights- you'd be hard pressed to find a  goalie in the AHL or NHL now that would let many of those in.

Trying to impress another lady with Froese stats eh?
