It'll be a pleasure to award Drew McIntyre one of my accolades tonight.

I wonder what the score would be if he had started.  >:(

He's been solid in relief but really hasn't faced anything in the way of odd-man rushes of high quality scoring chances.  He was swimming in the crease at the end of the 2nd and only the clock prevented a pretty weak goal.

Based on how he played in the AHL plus his effort tonight though, if Bernier isn't ready to go for the next one I would give him the start at least.

The Leafs' next game is against St Louis. That's seriously throwing the guy to the wolves.

As much as I think Reimer's been let down by the team, how many games can he give up 2-3 1st period goals before you trying something else though?  It's pretty much a guaranteed loss anyway at this point.

I thought they were in after hitting 80 in LA.  What a fool I am.

All they needed to do was go .500 from that point, and they would have been. Now, it looks like they'll have to go something like 6-2-1 in their final 9.

Easy.  RC can get 'em up for it.  He's the General Patton of coaches.

good luck coming back against the devils my leafs.

reimer, thanks for spotting the other team a 2+ goal lead again. soft goals.

Yeah, because that was all Reimer, not the guys allowing 2 on 1's and breakaways like they are going out of style.

Last time Bernier started?  2-0 after the 1st.

I think it's safe to say his soft goals early on in the games during this losing streak certainly took the wind out of the teams sails.

He's really more like the General Custer.

Phaneuf-$49 million over seven years
Clarkson-$5.25 million for seven years

How about firing Nonis for being such a s*it negotiator?

The wind out of their sails of getting outshot and giving up multiple odd-man rushes/breakaways?  Because that's what the first 2 goals were tonight.

Doesn't seem like they had much wind in their sails to begin with.  Reimer's convenient to pile it on, then you can avoid the reality of the rest of the team and coach.

Or General Mills.

Montreal: had a two goal lead before the 10 min mark of 1st period. Lost 4-3
Tampa: had a goal one minute in from puck drop. Lost 5-3
Detroit: had a goal by 12 minute mark of first. Lost 3-2
Washington: had three goals before the 10 min mark of the 1st period. 4-2

today: spotted a nice three goal lead to the Devils.

Its a team game I know.

It's really a trickle down effect. No way Bernier loses all the game they've lost since he's been out.

I suppose, but, for the guy's 1st career NHL start . . . that's rough. Tonight was the night to start him.

but they didn't ...so now what?  i think you have to do something other than reimer ...the team doesn't seem to believe in him right now

Yes so?  This isn't a new thing.  Leafs have only had a lead after the 1st period 17 times in 73 games, and have been down after the 1st 31 times in 73 games.
