Leafs @ Jets - Jan. 25th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

I'm pretty sure that the announcer just referred to Wayne Gretzky as the King of Kings. I know what he's getting at but, still...

You would have been saying the exact opposite if their point shot had gone in.

I...would have had an idea what he was doing in OT?

Your conclusion that it was a better decision to duck the hit and concede possession and a scoring chance. Unless you're being facetious.

Beach volleyball, a marching band, fireworks, 16 degrees heat and KISS singing live.

Things are getting out of hand in LA

No, I think it's the better play regardless. I mean, I could just as easily say that you'd be saying the opposite if Phaneuf got knocked down and the scoring chance happens down low. I'd risk a point shot over losing the puck down low every time, regardless of the outcome

Man, those Ducks jerseys are . . . something.

They were in a tough spot designing them. The NHL obviously doesn't want white jerseys for these games and with LA going black/grey Anaheim had to go with something that would stick out.

There's a flaw in that logic. The part where getting out of the way is a complete certainty of a loss of possession, while competing for it not.

I suppose, but, they probably could have done a nice throwback to their early days of purple and green instead of basically being giant skating pylons.

I would have liked to see that but again I don't know how that would have looked against black/grey colours. Especially since the fans are pretty far away at the stadium.

I get that I'm in the minority but I don't hate these jerseys for a one-time thing.

I know there are games in hand but that's awesome considering how far the habs got ahead of us.  Out of te wild card,  an if you view the standings the old way by top 8 we appear to be 4th.

The Habs have been awful lately.

If they went heavier on the green instead of purple, I imagine it would have stood out just fine. They also wouldn't look like they're representing the California State Penitentiary.
