Leafs @ Oilers - Mar. 1st, 10:00pm - SNO, Fan 590

Well I honestly didn't expect another shutout. Thought the Oilers would come out a blazing. Good for Hutch and the whole team. I had company didn't' see much of the game but some of the 3rd and team didn't give the Oilers anything. Defensive play by the whole team has been pretty impressive.

Dude went to fight Travis Dermott.
For real. It's not like he was fighting Bob Probert.

I had a whinge the other day about Nylander not getting in front of Mangiapane (sp?) because to me it showed a lack of game awareness and defensive effort. It's the type of thing we've seen with the Leafs for years.

These last 2 games have been played exactly they way they should. The Leafs are looking fit and committed to defense. The offense rolls from there, even without their best player.

Maple Leafs 81 goals in 23 games
Oilers 79 goals in 24 games

Sportsnet: "Pretty good job for the Maple Leafs to shut down the best scoring team in the NHL".

Not his best work

That was a perfect 3rd period defending a lead.  If you don't count the last game, we haven't seen that from the Leafs ... well hardly ever.  So impressive.

Michael Hutchinson has started 3 games for the Leafs this season.
He is 2-1-0 and has given up 7 goals against, 2 of which were PP goals by Calgary, for an all situations Sv% of 0.924 (0.926 at evens).

Thank you for the super jinx.

3-1-0 0.943 you are welcome

Firetruck

The obvious move is to throw Woll out there to complete the hat trick of blankage.
