Would any team bite on Clarkson if the Leafs retained 2 million per year for the remainder of the deal?

Do you think any team out there wouldn't think they could get a better player at a better price on the UFA market?

Also, I don't know if you caught my comment in the other thread, but thanks for the Serial tip, it's amazing.

Oh cheers. Yeah, I'm hooked.

I think most teams would, although I think there are still some dinosaur GMs out there that value Davey's "intangibles".

He's at least got a bit of offence so far. On pace for 23 goals and 27 points. I don't think he hits that goals mark but maybe a rise in assists evens that out. I think a team would bite at $3.25mil. It just depends on if the Leafs are looking for an asset in return or just simply dumping the contract.

Probably. The term is what makes me wonder. You're still essentially asking a team to sign Clarkson to a five year 18.75 million dollar deal.

The term is the killer, I think. I figure they'd have to retain at least a portion, or take a bad salary back.

mirtle: Komarov has 13 even strength points now. Puts him into top 30 in the NHL.

If they're not gonna put Kadri on the PP instead of Clarkson, maybe try this guy. He's quite happy being a pain in the butt, and probably can do the Holmstrom thing.

Santorelli's at 10 now too. I was surprised he never saw any PP time when Lupul was out.

Da.  Ja.  Yo.  Yeah.
