Percy looks awful this period.  I don't see him as NHL ready outside of the first two games the year.

Too bad.

@Hope_Smoke

Dreger "we've seen enough of Stuart Percy at the NHL level to know what he can provide"

Explanation please.  Is that a silly write off comment on a player or a reference to my statement.  I like Percy and think he can be a decent NHL player.  I just find him overmatched.

It's funny that he doesn't look ready yet today Dreger said we've seen enough of Percy at the NHL level after 8 games.

Ottawa scores on a delayed penalty given to Kadri for a completely clean hip check.

3-0 Ottawa.  Useless

Ok first of all, what was that a penalty for on Kadri?

Secondly, and in all seriousness, McDavid looks a real possibility here...

Even with the team winning management should have known this team wasn't going anywhere. We could see it and some have said it. if they were smart and I've said this before they should have s**t the bed this year and made that a priority. I hope they lose every game from now on in and have that opportunity and then the proper rebuild will begin. Move Dion, Clarkson if at all possible along with Nonis for his stupidity and move on. There are some good pieces in place. Forget the quick fixes or patches and start the rebuild properly. Sure we"ll suffer for a bit but wtf we"ve been suffering for a lot longer than that.

What about "Stand Pat Shanny"? What now?

It might have been Dreger today that said he talked to Shanahan and he said he has every intention to develop this team via the draft.  If that means trading players for picks/prospects, he's going to need to stand pat a while longer.

They look almost as bad as Buffalo did that night they played the Leafs and had 10 shots.

OK.  So.  You're Brendan Shanahan.  You've got a week of no games.  Plenty of time to stew think.  Why not get rid of your inherited GM, and take the helm until the season is done (assuming your preferred candidate isn't available now)?  Is there a downside to this?

Give Fletcher the keys to the re-tool already!

Seriously I don't know. If Nonis isn't he guy for the job, I'd imagine it's best just to get rig of him.

Not sure who'd move Franson and whoever else is on the way out though....
