What drivel this "reporting" is.  The "story" is nothing more than speculation about unconfirmed "reports."  Whether or not it turns out to be true, it shouldn't be reported now as if it were "news," or fact.

I'm pretty sure that's how it's being reported, as "reports" from sources.  It's not being presented as fact, everyone knows this.

That's fine, what I'm objecting to is the prime placement on tsn.ca in the headline position -- something that should be reserved for confirmed news, not an opinion piece, which is what this essentially is.  It's just shoddy journalism.

But it says right under the big headline part "Report:" and then in the blurb under the photo says "sources indicate."  I don't see an issue with it, I don't feel misled by it.

"Report" is a weasel word in this context, meaning "we really want to say something here but we haven't been able to confirm it yet from a reputable [as opposed to unnamed] source so we'll call it a "report."

Busta hit it, it's not even journalism.

What are you really looking for on a day like today where most of the talk is pure speculation and BS?

I'm sure CNN is still producing some super duper, legit 'journalism' today.

The proper classification of this as speculation, not news.  Simple.  Even TSN ought to be able to hit that low mark every time.
