The effort was just too little too late tonight. They need to come out of the gates flying tomorrow. No more weak starts!!!!

I'm starting to think that the Leafs missing the playoffs might be the best thing for this team.  Changes need to be made and that isn't going to happen if they make the post-season.

I agree.  They'll make it in, though.  I hope they get smoked by BOS or whoever in the first round.  The whole defense needs to be blown up.

I feel like Carlyle must not know statistics exist. It's the only way to explain some of his decision-making.

mirtle: McClement taking these draws late in games is crazy. He was only 33% tonight, too.

Pretty sure Phaneuf isn't going anywhere.

havent seen this movie before. start slow. very slow. get down early. rally when too late (3 secs to be exact)

Why wouldn't you want Bozak taking that faceoff? He could have won it to his right for a Phaneuf one-timer.

Anytime you can get McClement and his 33% FO's on the night out there when you need a goal with 30 seconds left, you've gotta do it.

Well that sucked. More proof that unless the top line scores a bunch we are going nowhere.

It's also about time the defense has woken up and has started contributing offensively. What the hell happened to the rest of the forwards? Unbelievable.

No doubt, and that's the problem.  This team will never contend unless the D is radically upgraded.  Everyone needs to be evaluated and if an attractive enough offer came in, move 'em.  The only one who I would not listen to offers for is Rielly.

If they lose tomorrow night I really don't know. But this team is obviously impossible to predict.

They'll probably make it, but, if they don't beat Tampa tomorrow or Montreal on Saturday, they'll be doing it the hard way.

And it's not the defence that needs to be blown up. It's really just a couple of them that need to be upgraded to more mobile guys. The defensive strategies, however . . .

No it's more proof that when Clarkson plays on the second line, that line doesn't score. If you compare their production with and without him it's pretty staggering.

But sure, make Kulemin center the third line and bench Holland, who was having a very solid game.
