I missed Coaches Corner and holy crap.

"I know what I'm talking about... imagine Justin Williams doing stuff like that. Ridiculous"

It was his idea haha.

Fighting for your home ice advantage life, HNIC against an AHL with the worst home record in the NHL, and get thoroughly pummeled.  Babcock hockey...the let downs outweigh the positives.
Time to give up on the season

This is definitely a first round loss team currently.  They can?t beat bad teams or the bruins.

Before this game, the leafs had the 2nd best record in the league, right?

They're also 8-1 against the current bottom-5 teams. But yeah, just can't beat bad teams.

It?s a scientific fact that if you do not beat bottom
5 teams 100% of the time the guy will be eliminated in the first round 100% of the time.

And also, Arizona pummeled Tampa Bay 7-1 earlier in the season. They seem just fine to me...

Shit happens.

It's amazing how people can still not understand that in this day and age even "bad" teams are still highly competitive. I mean the sens just beat Winnipeg tonight and they're not even real.

The Sens beat the Jets last Sat also 5-2. Guess the Jets should just shutdown the rest of the year.

Arizona is not a bad team: they're just lacking in prime elite scoring talent. Like the Islanders minus Barzal, they have a system and structure and an underdog mentality when playing scary teams. The Leafs didn't capitalize on early mistakes the Coyotes made and they shut it down after potting one through a broken play.

I'm still thinking about this play because it's so cool.

After the game the leafs don?t have home ice in the playoffs.

It's good to see that people occasionally take a break from complaining about the fact that the Leafs can't win at home to complain that they won't have home ice in the playoffs.

Hats off to the Coyotes for a well-deserved win.  Outplayed the Leafs for the final 54 minutes, and a stellar sticks-in-the-lane-block-all-shots effort.  Hjalmersson was fantastic.
They are getting a lot better, good coach, some good young players, nice defense and Archibald, the guy who really stood out at the all star game.  i said "who the F is he"?  Like to have him on our team

For all the sky-is-falling pushback, does anybody share with me just the teeniest sense of disappointment that, good as the Leafs are, it seemed at the start of the season like they should be closer to the kind of dominance TBL is showing?  Yes, I understand TBL is having a fantastic season.  But the fact is, there is them, and then there are about 6 teams right at the Leafs point level.  Heck, the lowly Islanders are ahead of us in the standings.  (Their fans must be having a hell of a lot of fun this morning at our expense.)  Anybody laughing at Lou now?

So yeah, I'll just come out and say it: I am a little disappointed.  It's not just that they crapped the bed last night; it happens.  It's that there are too many nights where they don't bring their "A" game consistently.  And given the forward talent, I don't think we should accept that.

The narrative going in to the season was that the Leafs would have 3 lines that would be almost impossible to contain.  That they would be dominant.  I never thought they would be quite as good as TBL.  But they don't give me the sense of being a dominant team.

I'm not naive, this is the best Leafs team in 50 years and I've never enjoyed watching them more than this year.  I'm just being honest, was hoping for a little bit more.

All i can say is I am so happy I bailed on going to this game. To pay for shit like that would not have been fun. Time to go for a great steak dinner and spend the money that way.

Incoming SHUTOUT, by an AHL team, no less!  :-[
They are not an AHL team, the Coyotes like any other young team are coming together, anyone who calls the Yotes an AHL team is trolling.

Yeah sorry for the derailment, Nik likes to argue and I'm certainly not adverse to it!!! Highlander if you exit the 101 on Maryland and park on that side your exit from game will take seconds rather than 45 minutes. If you want free right after exiting 101 take a left into empty parking lot by hotels and you can walk to arena in about 5 minutes. Free and fast.
Thanks for the tips Bates, appreciated...
