Panthers @ Leafs - Dec. 17th, 7:00pm - LeafsTV, SN 590

They look worse than ever tonight. Can't handle the puck, can't clear the zone, can't make passes.

Static at the blue line, indecisive  and no ideas

Looks like the D has free rein to go deep.  Gunnarsson almost potted one there from right in front.

They look like a team with very little confidence.

Season PP point totals for the forwards on the top-2 units tonight:

Kessel - 9
Kadri - 9
JVR - 8
Raymond - 8
Lupul - 8

Clarkson - 2

Leafs gain the zone.  Clarkson gets pushed by defender...falls to the ice and Florida ices the puck.
Leafs gain the zone.  Puck is passed to Clarkson.  Panther closes in, easily takes the puck from him and ices the puck.

Wow.  He is awful.

I'd say we could at least be excited for 24/7, but I heard that the Leafs have say in the final cut and they're trying to avoid controversy. So any guesses of what appliances Randy will wrestle with this week?

This is a really bad hockey team.  Why is Raymond on the 4th line?

Clarkman, man, this guy looks bad on the ice, he looks like he doesn't even know which way to go.  Leafs look dead...per usual.

How long does Carly get to continue?  This is bad.

If we lose tonight, at home to FLORIDA, really something has to give. That was as bad a period as I've seen I think.

I missed the Penguins game, was Raymond-Holland-Lupul really that bad? They obviously dominated against Chicago. How do you break them up for David freaking Clarkson?

I wish they would try Franson/Rielly as the pairing on the top PP unit.  Then Gardiner/Gunnar on the 2nd, and no Clarkson.  "NO CLARKSON ON THE POWERPLAY!" he yelled.

Well Carlyle gave McClement more ice-time than them last night...

I think it's very fair to say the the overall ability and talent the team has is the best it's been since the lockout.

Yet we stink. And by that we mean we can compete with any great team any game and yet too often drop a deuce in games against a Florida Panther team.

The only thing the Leafs do consistently is the crap stuff.

Baffling personnel decisions, obviously a terrible playing system and little accountability. It's coaching.

That bloody Carlyle, telling his players not to skate, turn the puck over, take horrible penalties I mean, come on!!!

Why even have a coach then?  If whatever happens on the ice Carlyle is absolved of, why can't anyone stand behind the bench?

Why even have players if Carlyle can't win the game from the bench on his own?

Edit to add, obviously I'm being silly here but that period showed little effort and poor decision making by the players. Sure, Carlyle needs to get them going, the game ebbs and flows, but honestly all this reminds me of how people were on Wilson when he was here, despite the recent quasi revisionist appeal to his abilities as a coach back then.
