It is likely mentioned somewhere in this massive thread, but I cannot see it, so please if someone could tell me what the contract status for Carlyle is that would be great.

Is he signed beyond this year?

If I remember correctly, he has one more season on his contract.

Thank you for reminding us we have to endure this crap for another season.

Just because he has another season on his contract doesn't mean he'll be behind the Leafs bench next year. He'll still almost certainly be relieved of his duties after the season.

I'll take that bet.

I'd go even money that he won't be. I see him being out less than a week after the playoffs. The only complicating factor is whether Nonis will still have the vote of confidence from upper management going forward, though I'm sure he will for another season even though I'm not convinced he should.

Carlyle will be fired. Somebody's head is getting lopped off for this and if it isn't RC it would have to be the next life form up the food chain.

Yeah...I don't know. I think if that were the case we'd have heard more rumblings to that effect during the losing streak.

We did. McKenzie, Dreger, Kypreos, Mirtle, etc., all talked about it. It's been very much part of the media's talking points over the last few weeks. Lieweke also very much alluded to Nonis' job being on the line in an interview he gave this week.

We heard about the issue of Carlyle's continued tenure with the club because it was unavoidbly in the ether but I don't know how much we heard "his job is seriously in jeopardy".

Like I said, I'd take the bet.

There most definitely has been talk about his job being in serious jeopardy. Just because you're not listening doesn't mean it hasn't been said.

Or it just means I don't look to echo chambers for my news.

1 regulation time win in 19 games or so.  An 8 game losing streak.  Goalies facing 40+ shots most games.  Personally, I would have fired his backside already.

I get the dramatic effect of the losing skid and such but getting their head lopped off for what, being a bubble playoff team? It shouldn't be that surprising, yucky maybe, but not surprising.

I doubt Carlyle or Nonis are fired this offseason, Nonis with more breathing room of the two.

Same.

I saw the quote indicating Carlyle had 1 year left on his contract and couldn't resist in responding in a somewhat sarcastic manner.

I figure as soon as the season is over Carlyle is gassed.

Leafs are more than a bubble team. They had a lineup to at least make it into the second round of the playoffs.  Their team play and system sucked.

If you are judging the Leafs from the last years playoff appearance, then please don't. 48 games is not a full season. This season was a more accurate  barometer of where this team.
