Round 1: Canadiens (A1) vs. Senators (W1)

Sens started the period strong but the habs came on and finally tied the game with 5 mins left. Don't like the Sens chances if the game keeps going this way.

It doesn't excuse Habs fans acting like, well, Habs fans but I'll never understand people who wear jerseys to away games. That is a lot more faith in the common decency of your fellow man than I have.

I've been to Philly, Buffalo, and Ottawa and never had a problem wearing my jersey. (Granted, Ottawa is pretty much a home game)

I think a lot depends on what you look like, where you're sitting, and who you're with. I can see how two girls by themselves would run into trouble.

I had a major problem in Buffalo a few years ago...well not me specifically but the guy in the Leafs jersey in the row in front of me.  I had to intervene in a fight that was heading for serious facial reconstructive surgery and it started entirely on the basis of "Hey &$*(&#$$, go back to Canada you %$*($&(*&%".  It was also nice that the ushers stood by and were letting it happen and you had to rely on the fans in the crowd to save a guy from some major injuries.

I would say that the majority of stories I've heard re: Buffalo fall more in line with LK than TML fan albeit most of them are less violent.

It was pretty intimidating wearing a Leafs jersey at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Nothing happened but some were very vocal. On a Habs goal, one guy I swear reached down and grabbed my shoulder from 3 rows back to yell in my face "1967!". Yeah...got it buddy..

Oh yeah now they call boarding. That was pretty weak considering they haven't called half a dozen boardings worse than that so far tonight.

After all the stuff they let go, that's pure garbage.  I mean even on that hit he doesn't initiate contact in the back, it's a shoulder hit but the Montreal player is turning into the hit and it finishes as a hit to the back but that isn't how the play started.

This has been a great game, but apparently boarding isn't a thing anymore? I've seen 5 or 6 really dangerous hits there from both sides that absolutely should have been called.

well they called it in OT........

Dale Weise has 5 playoff goals now in 25 games and 23 goals in 253 games in the regular season.

That's too bad, have been enjoying this series. Hard to imagine Kessel performing successfully in that atmosphere.

Winning goal might have been tipped.

Kessel has 21 points in 22 playoff games.  He also had 6 points in the Boston series.

I know, that was a comment about his recent level of effort.

Yeah, this one just doesn't feel right, I think Ottawa deserved that one.  They were the more physical team and really plugged up the neutral zone and seemed to be controlling the game, at least for the first half.  Montreal's powerplay was awful as well. The 3-0 series lead is quite flattering.

Agree, the boarding call in OT was terrible.

I got a "Go back to Canada" in Philly. I said "I will, and I'll take your best players with me!". I just ignored him afterwards. If you don't pay attention eventually it takes the fun out of it for them.
