I understand that we only want positive thoughts here but I think that we need to at least acknowledge that Carey Price is a goalie that can win a series on his own.

This series could be a lot tougher for the Leafs than it is being made out to be.

I'm fairly confident heading into the series but I mean yeah if we get goalie'd then we get goalie'd.

Just once I'd like the Leafs to be on the dishing end of that, not the taking end.

May I present to you cujo and potvin?

I remember the series against the blackhawks, potvin stole that series. There were 2 or 3 1-0 games.

That was last century and my braindrive erased the backups.  :)

As sad as it may sound those are all great memories for me and they don?t feel that far away. I know they are but they are all still vivid memories for me.

I'm surprised that Tampa vs Columbus wasn't there.  Tampa was setting league records that year.

Isn't that potentially true of a guy who just went 17-2-2 as well?

Look, I get the need to say "anything can happen" in this series because of course it can (and I've said it), but let's be plain: the Leafs are better than the Habs and they ought to win this series.

They should but the best team doesn't always win. Leafs were the better team in the playins and lost. Stuff happens..

I wonder how many referees from the Canadian division are moving on to the playoffs. The refs this season have been:

Kendrick Nicholson
Chris Schlenker
Brad Meier
Graham Skilliter
Marc Joannette
Eric Furlatt
Kevin Pollock

Plus a few AHL refs filled in.

Nicholson and Schlenker worked each of the last 2 Calgary-Vancouver games in Vancouver, not sure if that would mean that neither is likely to move on. All I know is that nobody here wants to see Skilliter.

It is, and I am not trying to take anything away from the  Leafs.  Campbell has to prove himself in the playoffs though.  And while I didn't realize how badly Price has fallen off, he has at least done it in the past.

As long as the Leafs play with a purpose and don't let something like "this series will be easy" get into their head, then the Leafs should be okay.

You know full well that we are going to see him

Looking into it, Meier, Joannette, Furlatt, and Pollock are by far the most experienced and the only ones with playoff experience. I expect the 4 of them will likely work the two series.

Man I can't wait for this series to start already.  There was a time where I used to watch as much hockey as possible but around the second lockout I transitioned to being far more of a Leafs only watcher outside of the odd game here and there.  I saw little snippets of games this year just due the joys of house/hotel quarantines but watching playoff hockey you really appreciate just how much more intense the game gets in the postseason.

Can't wait for it to start for the Leafs.

Montreal really took their speedy puck controlling team with not enough finishers, saw Columbus and said, I want to be that, but not as good at it.

Every NHL playoff run Bogosian has participated in has resulted in him lifting the Stanley Cup.

That was crazy dangerous. He's lucky that no one got hit with it.That would have done some damage.
