The 2013-2014 Toronto Raptors thread: A 'Drake' New World

That Sterling's an idiot, or that racist old white men still exist in the world?

That if you play for the Clippers you're still working for Donald Sterling.

It seems to me that they've thrown that ball in the court of the Board.

Right and bravo to them for the recommendation, I suppose, but the brass tacks of this decision is just turning Sterling into an absentee owner. There's a value in him not going to games but like I said it's not really the underlying issue.

Doc Rivers was pretty blunt about what he's doing if Sterling still owns the team next year.

What would you have them do? Is this not all they can do?

There isn't an easy answer and there doesn't have to be one. Saying that this doesn't address the underlying issue isn't so much a criticism of the NBA's decision here as it is a comment on the situation in general. There is a fair criticism for the NBA here but it's about the when and not so much the what.

If the BoG is successful at forcing Sterling to sell the team, that will be the more significant step.

Well, I'll say it: being disappointed that the Raps didn't get the Wizards in the first round was a misreading of the situation.

I think a lot of people are realizing that now!  I said on the last day of the season playing Brooklyn or Washington is probably a wash.  The best case scenario that day would have been Charlotte winning, Brooklyn winning, and Washington losing.  We would have played the Bobcats.

The Wizards look legit and I won't be surprised to see them in the Conference Finals.  Indiana should be better then them, but they have a some serious locker room issues.  Atlanta has played well, but if they do finish off Indiana they are the definite underdogs against Washington.

Brooklyn chose wrong to want to face Toronto and then Miami!  Chicago then Indiana/Atlanta would have been easier for them then the Raps and then Miami!

Raps were up 22 going to the 4th quarter. Lead is down to 11 after a 16-5 start to the quarter for Brooklyn.

Edit: Lead is down to 8, Raps keep missing, Brooklyn with the ball, five and a half to go!

Looks like the Raps win by the skin of their teeth 115-113. But I just gotta know... how do you give up 44 points in the fourth quarter? YIKES.

When asked to describe the emotions of a fourth quarter that saw the Nets score 44 points, Casey answered: "You wouldn't want to hear it."
                                    ---------

The capacity ACC crowd of 20,393 that included Drake and rapper 50 Cent -- who dipped his head when the camera was on him to show fans his "Northern Uprising" hat -- was loud all game long, from the moment the fans sang along to O Canada to the final buzzer.

The arena was a sea of white, as fans wore their white "We The North" T-shirts. They mocked the Nets by chanting "Broo-klyn!" the traditional chant at the Barclays Center.

The Nets even took note, posting on the team's official Twitter account: ".Nets fans take note- this is what a playoff crowd sounds like..set your DVD and take notes .RAPTORSvNETS."

I know it's consistently called, but why is it a shooting foul when a player is knocked on a 3 well after releasing the ball?  Maybe I've always thought incorrectly that a foul is called because it is contact in the course of shooting and could affect the shot.  If it's already been released, why do you get a foul shot?

In general, if you make a bit of contact after the ball has been released it won't be called.  However, if you basically run the guy over after the ball has been released (see Amir's 6th foul last night) its going to get called every time.

I know, but what I'm wondering is why?  What's the rationale behind that?
