The "Mr. T" Man of the Match 2018-19 Edition: Forward to the Cup

Marner HM Tavares

Mention to Nylander, Gardiner

Demerit Andersen (should have stopped one of the goals) he's not his usual self at the moment

Marner
Tavares

How anyone can point the finger at Andersen is beyond me. He's not his usual self? What do you mean? He's not the goalie that makes saves he has no business making so the team can continue to win games they don't deserve?

HM: Ennis

Yeahs: Kadri, Matthews, Kapanen, Johnsson, Tavares, Marner, Brown, Marleau, Nylander, Dermott, Gardiner, Zaitsev, Ozhiganov, Andersen.

MotM: Morgan Rielly.  If there could be said to be a turning point in a rout, it was his breaking up the 2 on 1 that turned around into Goalo Uno.

HM: Tyler Ennis.  He was a Rehabilitated Second-Chance Nottahasbeenyet Beast.

Kudos to all the players herman so helpfully listed above.

Rielly HM Ennis

Mention to Kadri Brown Matthews Tavares Marleau

Demerit Ozhiganov (not scoring when goalie was down and out)

Rielly is really putting some distance between himself and any of the forwards in the Points race.

Kapanen being ahead of Marner so far despite the latter having twice the amount of points seems a little wacky.

1.  Marner has more total accolades.
2.  Kapanen has scored more goals.
3.  Quit trying to make trouble with this very subjective ranking.

Ennis getting the HM for scoring 2 garbage time goals last night made me lose trust in the entire thing.

I voted Brown for HM...do we have beef?

Yeah, I was going to vote, but quite frankly, sometimes I wonder if I'm even watching the same game as a number of you. I know it's not scientific, and there's a fair amount of bias based upon what you expect of a player based on minutes, and opportunity.. but sometimes I'm genuinely baffled by some of the consensus picks, and the overall points clearly have little bearing on which have been the best players to date.

Let your voice be heard my friend! Look what voter apathy did down in the States!

Regarding my Marner/Kapanen comment, as Frank pointed out Marner still has the big lead in times voted so it's worth looking more closely at the raw data too sometimes. My post was mostly meant to say that maybe, just maybe, there's a small bit of Kapanen-overrating going around.
