But someone needs to tell Drake to stay the hell out of it.

Just curious why?

He called Defoe to sell him on going to Toronto...I thought it was cool to hate on Drake these days? Or is that Nickelback?

We need to ignore Nickelback with the hopes that it staves off a Chad Kroeger + Avril Lavigne child.  You know, the antichrist of music.

Wasn't sure if you were serious, because as someone who doesn't follow too closely I had read it was a good thing he did that?

So Defoe will be formally announced on Monday (likely 10million transfer fee).  And then TFC is pushing hard to acquire Michael Bradley (USA) to significantly bolster their midfield.

TFC, assuming the team doesn't collapse under the expectations, is absolutely stacked if that move goes through.

AGENT: TORONTO FC ACQUISITION OF BRADLEY IS COMPLETE

Toronto FC's acquisition of Roma and U.S. international midfielder Michael Bradley is reportedly complete.

Bradley's agent, Alberto Faccini, told Italy's Radio Radio on Thursday that the American star's transfer to Major League Soccer has been wrapped up.

"Michael made this choice and Toronto, in just two days, has closed the deal," the agent said. "There is a very important project for him at Toronto, which made an investment that is one of the most expensive in recent
years.

So this looks like that the club is finally turning the corner to respectability. However, I will reserve final opinion until I see some consistent results on the pitch. Proven goal scorers have signed with TFC in the past only to see their production dry up like the Mojave.

Ok so I know minimal about soccer especially over in Europe.

To put an NHL reference point to it, who in the NHL would be comparable to Justin Defoe and Bradley.

St. Louis and Stamkos. Bradley is the playmaker while Defoe is considered the guy who can fill the net.

Defoe would still be able to contribute to a mid to lower end English Premier League side and has been contributing ok on a top end side all be it as a substitute.

He's probably playing more effectively than Beckham was when he went to MLS

Still a great poacher though..he doesn't pass and plays a bit selfish...honestly he's exactly what TFC needed in the worst way! He's going to score buckets of goals

Definitely, and I'll be keeping an eye out and maybe try and catch the odd TFC game next season

Word is that Brazilian keeper Julio Cesar might be headed to TFC on a loan  deal.

Heard that yesterday...another huge signing if Redknapp decides to sell him.

Right now it just looks like a 6 month loan from QPR. They have been trying for months to loan him anywhere. Cesar is not playing for them in the Championship and the loan gets his salary off their books. It helps Cesar as well as he gets playing time ahead of the World Cup.

Signed!  Goalkeeper Cesar an official member of the TFC.  Welcome to Toronto, Julio!

Cesar doesn?t consider himself as a ?summer rental,? though, seeing himself playing out the entire 2014 MLS season with Toronto, instead of walking away after the World Cup.

?People might think I came here just to play ahead of the World Cup, but it?s not true. I came here because this is a good league, and I want to win here. Wherever I go, I try to win. After the World Cup is over, I can see myself coming back here to Toronto, and helping them try to win a championship,? Cesar said.

Anyone watch the Newcastle / Hull City game this morning? Newcastle's gaffer Alan Pardew was sent to the stands after headbutting Hull's David Meyler in a touchline altercation. Makes yelling at a dressing room door seem pretty trivial!
