The Official TV Thread

If anyone cares, Terra Nova was officially cancelled by Fox today  and the producers are trying to get another network to pick it up. Hardly a surprise, as it was a big budget show that only pulled okay ratings, and took too long to really get going, but, by the end, it had some potential. Probably won't get picked up by anyone, but, you never know.

I thought it was a great way to send him off and challenge the show a bit, without giving anything away I thought the irony of the 'big choice' and what Carl 'didn't do' was fun.

I tried to give it a shot but it just wasn't interesting enough to me, not terrible but also no particular strength.

I'm still kind of pissed Defying Gravity was cancelled so maybe I'm just getting bitter as I get older about shows in general.

I wanted him to die. He was getting severely annoying, yet at the same time I felt kind of sad when he went.
I'm a little ashamed to say but it's always fun watching an annoying whiny bleeding heart get their ass handed to them. ;)

I cheered when he got killed, it earned me a dirty look from the missus.

Think they'll ever end up at a prison in the show?  I really liked that part in the comics, and it would allow for a lot of the dramatic nonsense they like so much.

Feels like they're skipping past it.

Literally had his heart ripped out...or almost. It was a nice touch / send off.

Also interesting is T-Doggs zero lines in that episode. Whats up with this guy?

I'm wondering if TWD had that scene to show that the world that Dale was trying to hang on to was long gone and it's nothing more than survival of the fittest. The earth is now a place where if you're not constantly in survival mode you die.

Crap.  Terra Nova was a show that I watched every episode of.  While I thought it had a couple of slow, boring-ish episodes, it picked up at the end.  I won't exactly cry if it doesn't get picked up by any other network, but the season did end on a pretty big cliffhanger.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but Netflix is apparently thinking about picking it up.

I was never a Dale fan, but for me, the show did a good job of building sympathy for Dale just before he ate it. It had a much bigger impact than it would have otherwise.

Edit: Spoilers in white...

I think it's part that but more, the decision at the end... not to kill the dude was a sign to me that the group does need the notion of the rule of law, yadda yadda, and with the irony of the kid even more so, that the enemy is the zombie but people deserve a chance to fail first even if that failure has cost.

It's one of the crux problems between Rick and Shane too, so I think it's more of an echo there. Two interesting things came out of that, Andrea agreed with Dale and when Rick changed his mind at the last minute, Daryl didn't question him.

A statement about stupidity though, oi, what is Dale doing out there? I mean you'd think even a bleeding heart would remember what the hell is going on.

Guys, just a thought but if you're going to be writing posts with full-blown spoilers for a show that you don't hide maybe create a new thread for said show specifically?

Well, that's why I left Wigwals tag there but sure.

That wasn't specifically aimed at you but rather was a general suggestion for all in the future. You can spoil the Walking Dead for me to your heart's content, I done read the books dagnabbit.

It's crazy to think but Netflix could be the saviour of shows cut too early by big networks. I think they're doing the same thing with Arrested Development.

I watched it as well but the characters were unlikeable and the writing was pretty bad too. Not surprised. Won't miss it.

It was intense, but I kind of saw it coming. Partly because of the comics, but also because it was building to that point and I figured if not this week, then definitely next.

The ending was unreal. Next week is going to be nuts!
