The Official TV Thread

How about that Treme, huh? Pretty crazy stuff.  The trials and travails of working jazz musicians, the way so many different characters and their stories form a web that compose the larger, encompassing story of post-Katrina New Orleans and the rebuilding efforts, the small intimate moments of drama that are personal and yet represent the shared human experience...hello? Anyone? Just me? Alright then.

I've seen the first couple episodes, I will continue it soon.

Friday the 13th is on the TV right now. Forgot Kevin Bacon is in it. If the actor who's in the most things wins, it's Bacon. Hands down.

SOA's body count this season is crazy. With 2 1/2 seasons to go they'll be no one left.

Yup and potential (non-specific) spoiler for next week in the small text below.

It looks like we are losing another regular next week too.

Anyone watching Revolution ?

I downloaded the first few episodes. I have to say that I like and dislike it equally. I don't really want to watch it but at the same time I am interested to see whats going happen.

I've watched it. I have my doubts about it lasting, but, there's potential there if it does.

I feel the exact same way. I've watched all the episodes. The storyline is intriguing, but something is missing. I'm not enough of a filmy to know the reasoning, but it's either the acting or the directing or possibly the script and most likely all three.

An example: I think they're trying too hard to give the Miles character toughness and "ice-coldness" if you know what I mean. It just doesn't come across as genuine. There's definitely potential there and the concept of it is good; I'm just not sure it's being executed well. It's got the same feeling to it as Once Upon a Time which my wife makes me watch every week. It could be so good, but some of the scenarios and, more importantly, the characters reactions to them don't come across as convincing.

I completely agree. The idea for the story is good, though far fetched(I mean everything? Why everything? Why isn't their resources to restart everything from the beginning? People today that the world existed for millions of years without electricity right?....yes I know this will all be explained, or atleast I hope so)

I find both Charlie and Miles almost unbearable to watch. Miles is a horrible actor and is not very good at being the bad a$$ they're portraying him as. Charlie always looks like she's smiling despite the seriousness of the situation and it drives me nuts.....Though I do like the former Google feller and Maggie. I also like Monroe, and Captain Neville.

But we're led to believe that the greatest stockpiler of weapons (the US army) is non-existant? It is an interesting premise but the "one guy" swordfighting the militia is a a little of the old kung-fu movie stuff.

Well, it has been 15 years since the power went, so, who knows? On top of that, all of their larger weaponry doesn't work anymore.

Well it's a pretty petty thought anyway since I'm talking about a TV show....we watched the last ep last night and both my wife and daughter
commented that they didn't like the daughter character. Actually I don't
either. I don't know whether it's the actress, her bad acting or the writing
for the character...

I think it's her acting. I think it's her inability to express her emotions.

Has anyone seen 'Boss' with Kelsey Grammar?  I've been told it's great, so that's likely next on my list.

That is an insane show. The 2nd season just ended and I hope they renew it. Kelsey Grammar is incredible. The machinations of his character (the Mayor of Chicago) is great. I'm sure it's also closer to the political truth
than not. It's similar to The Shield show where all were after a corrupt
cop but he manages to squirm out from under them every time. Lots of twists to Boss.
