2012 NHL Entry Draft

:o The Twitterverse is exploding on the belief that Howson was offered the Islanders entire draft - Yes, Snow offered all their picks to move up two spots and Howson turned them down. I mean, what/who is nuttier? A) The rumour or (if true), B) Howson, or C) Snow?

Both are nutty - one for making the offer and the other one for not jumping on it. I just can't believe it's true. That's insane by Snow.

If true, I'd say Howson is an idiot for turning it down.  I can't believe that offer was made.  6-7 draft picks in one draft for one guy?

I'd say the outlandishness of the rumour is a good sign it isn't true.

haha...

Teams like the Islanders and Blue Jackets should not be allowed to discuss a trade unless there's an adult present.

Wow! Just wow!...

Elliotte Friedman ‏@FriedgeHNIC
@Aportzline story about NYI offering CLB all of its picks for Murray (link -- http://bit.ly/MTl4y2) is true. Working on blog, but...

I would have thought so, but it's Garth Snow we're talking about, and now Elliot Freedman says it's true.

@FriedgeHNIC.... @Aportzline story about NYI offering CLB all of its picks for Murray (link -- bit.ly/MTl4y2) is true. Working on blog,

Too crazy to be true or too crazy to be made up...?

I think the latter. Can anyone see Burke turning down that offer from NYI? He'd be all over that like flies on s&*t. I don't care how high they rated Morgan Rielly.

LOL. Those teams haven't even made the playoffs in 4 and 6 seasons respectively. What losers.

I think Friedman is a good reporter but this is a story where an unnamed source wouldn't cut it for me.

Easily. You could take all of those extra picks and turn them into all kinds of things.. trade one or two here or there for bottom six/depth guys.. flip them for prospects already developing, trade for future year draft picks to spread things out a bit, etc etc. ... would be like a pile of found money to do all kinds of things with.

In what world is being the anti-nutman anything but the highest of compliments?

In the same world that in addition to puppies and rainbows, there are also really ugly, yet to be classified sea creatures and rainy, poopy days where we can't go outside to play.

I would say this world, in which Keon14 was the ultimate anti-nutman.

Well, except in grammar...

I don't get the reference but wouldn't the ultimate anti-nutman be someone who arrived at a series of conclusions about the Leafs that were ultimately gloomy about the future but were well-reasoned and considered and based on an impartial interpretation of the evidence instead of a prejudicial agenda informed by their fandom?

I can't blame Nik, I've had my share of days where I thought there was no hope in Leafs land.  Summer time always seems to bring some hope though at least for me.
