2012 NHL Entry Draft

Jolly good show chaps said:
Massively deflated at taking Reilly. Sure, a great prospect, but scandalous that we overlooked Grigorenko given the need for a top quality centre.  Oh well.

Oh well nothing.  What a load of complete and total crap.  You don't go safe with a #5.  You go big.

Jesus.

He's 18 years old guys. I don't think the fact that the Leafs already have offensive defensemen in their system is really all that relevant. He may not play in the NHL for another three years.

Well, it is what it is... Time for some positive vibes;

Rielly scouting report: Like Galchenyuk, he missed most of the season with a torn ACL, playing just 18 games before returning late in the playoffs. Like Dumba, he?s not overly big but is a good skater with offensive ability. Our scout calls him the potential steal of the draft ? ?the best defence prospect since Drew Doughty? ? given his stickhandling and playmaking skills. McKeen?s: Rielly ?possesses similar attributes? to Senators defenceman Erik Karlsson ?as the two play an almost identical skating and puck possession game.?

Drafting a defenceman fits pretty well with what Burke has said about building teams in the past. If he's the next Niedermayer, I doubt anyone will care about what Filip Forsberg is doing.

It's the NHL draft people, give it time.

The other issue I have with the guy is from now to eternity we'll be seeing people misspelling his name as "Reilly."  Which is how he SHOULD spell it.  Change it now, kid.

I did love the Dad's reaction, though.
