2020-2021 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I can't believe I'm saying this... but... Go Je..ttt.... nah I can't whatever.

I do want to see McDavid/Draisaitl vs Matthews/Marner in a playoff series and I think it'd be good for the NHL product to referee the first round accordingly.

Based on last night's game + the AHL games played by Andersen, that is no way, no how he is the starter.

Maybe only on Babcock twisted world (where Marner is a 4th liner) he is.

A good observation from Mr. Offside here. In that frame Marner's pass options are pretty limited. Nylander would be on his back hand and Tavares wouldn't really be in a shooting position. If they swapped spots when Marner has the puck on that side then Nylander could be a one-timer option from the slot and Tavares would have a little more plays to make if he got the puck in front of the net. And when Matthews has the puck on his side Nylander goes back to the net and Tavares to the slot to keep those options open again. Also just creates more movement in the middle of the ice and possibly throws the defenders off.

This is the kind of stuff that one might imagine a professional hockey coaching staff would think of.

The real pity for the fools who never saw what Nylander really was and is and what he brings to the table.  He is only going to get better.

Since she's worked for the Leafs the past few years, it's worth bringing this to attention:

Amazing accomplishment for such an already accomplished woman.

Nothing is more annoying than deserving people achieving multiple life goals by leveraging their natural talents with hard work and determination.

Don't they understand they are making people like me look bad?

Seriously, well done Dr. Wickenheiser.

All this and she still has time for the kids. I reached out to her(she's previously helped with a hockey camp I run) to see if she had any collector items to donate to a tournament we're running to raise funds for a girl hockey player that passed away and the Memorial Scholarship that was formed in her name. Hayley was all over it.
She's amazing.

Speaking of Dr. Wickenheiser,

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has elevated Dr. Hayley Wickenheiser to the role of Senior Director of Player Development and hired Danielle Goyette as the club's Director of Player Development. Maple Leafs Player Development Consultant Darryl Belfry and Belfry Hockey Inc. will oversee the technical development of the club's players and staff, while Will Sibley has been promoted to Director of Development Operations and Analysis.

Merchandise from her med school must be wild.
