All aboard the band wagon... were playoff bound.

Maybe it's just the nine-year-old pessimist in me, but I can already picture the Leafs being swept in the first round and subsequently hearing about how they "haven't won a playoff game since 2004."

no matter what happens there are going to be naysayers ...as was pointed out...the fact that the leafs haven't got in while playing a full season....if they go out in the first round it'll just be a sign that they weren't really any good...if they last on longer than that ..then there will be detractors that will say..lucky bounces...weak conference ...

considering that the leafs are not going to win the cup (spolier alert?)  there will be things to take away from them....so pessamistic or not ..you're just going to have to judge the success of this team on your terms

i don't want to see them swept either...but not because someone might give me grief over it..just because it would suck to see the team go out like that...in fact ..i already know myself..that no matter how they end up bowing out of the playoffs...i'm going to be upset..the only real bonus of making the playoffs..is i get to be excited about the team for that bit longer...

So with so much on the line who starts Sat against Montreal?  Do we sit Reimer with the memory of his last start being a shutout heading into the playoffs?  Do we give give Scrivens a start to shake off the rust in case he is needed come playoffs should Reimer fall to injury?  Do we give Reimer the night off to avoid 3 games in 4 nights heading to the rigours of so many starts in the playoffs?  Do we give Scrivens the start to hold back our cards against the Habs by starting Reimer or to avoid Reimer having a bad game heading into a playoff series with the Habs?  Do we start Scrivens just to avoid Reimer being injured in the final game of the season?  Do we start Reimer because this game is so very important to establish a first round matchup with the Habs?  So many tough questions for RC to go through right now.

Ben, we know you want to play. Just ask Randy if you can.

Haha, I am a big fan but Reimer is the guy going forward in my books as well, he has been fantastic and has carried this team for a month or so.

That is how I felt after pondering some of those questions  ;D.  Everyone of them must be going through RC's head though.

This means the Leafs are no longer just Canada's team, but the world's team.

Ok ....... the flags are flying, and the drinks are chilling. now we need wed to hurry and get here.

Nutman, you are in your glory.  ;)

Oh ya... I'm pumped. and the best part I stopped reading all the neg crap "our" press is writing about our team. I may as well buy the Boston globe. The tor media are the worst, if I was Kessel I would have dissed them as well.

This thread always makes me think of Choo Choo Soul.

But that's probably because I have a three year old.

That's the one Treehouse segment I actually pay attention to.  ;)

the Toronto Sun is asking for people to send in their photos of being decked out in blue and white. I sent them the photo of my Game Day Bears. Overkill?

and if you have a contribution:bluewhite@scribblelive.com

It's a good thing Nonis did not trade for Luongo - Leafs may not have made the playoffs and this thread would not exist.  Good for Nonis.

That contract sucks but seeing Luongo's play against the Sharks, it makes me think "what if we had him" everytime Reimer lets out a horrible rebound, bounces off an appendage, and into the net
