His skating is very good, but, another thing I've noticed with him is that he's very rarely stationary. He's one of the few Leafs forwards that seems to always be in motion and always pushing the pace and being aggressive in both ends.

I think he's very underrated defensively. He always seem to be backchecking and in position down low. We've got a keeper here.

Huh.  He hasn't stood out for me but it sounds like I need to watch him moree closely.

I think at the game I was at he stood out more than anyone else on the team. Definitely caught the eye.

Just finished the first period. How can they go back to Orr, McLaren, or Fraser after watching real players?

McLaren's time might be pretty much done. I'm pretty certain Nonis is demanding Rielly stays in the line-up which means opportunities for Fraser will be limited. Orr though comes in the day he's healthy, guaranteed.

Orr. Yeah I know.  :-\  Is it just me or is McLaren not a better skater than Orr? I know neither can actually play hockey but it seems like McLaren is the faster Yugo.

I thought McLaren skated better and put in more of an effort last season. This season though they've been equally awful.

He seems to be trying to be more like Orr, which is unfortunate. He was a perfectly adequate 4th liner who could fight last season.

So the only change I'd like to this line up really is Bolland in for Smithson and McClement to 4th line. Trade Bozak and maybe Franson for a 2nd pair shut down defence man.

Raymond - Bolland - Clarkson might be ok?

They'll probably prove me wrong soon but I'm not liking this Kessel-JVR-Lupul powerplay unit. They just haven't been very successful together, and I really wanted to see that trio tried out on the powerplay. Not only that, but it's taking Holland off the 2nd unit because Kadri is there and makes room for Clarkson.

They need someone on that line who can actually win a face-off. Having to start every PP recovering the puck in the defensive zone is not helpful.

Defender covered that puck with his glove in the crease. Is that not a penalty shot?

Should have been. He might have gotten lucky that the whistle had gone/was about to be blown.
