Coyotes @ Leafs - Dec. 19th, 7:00pm - TSN, TSN 1050

They need someone on that line who can actually win a face-off. Having to start every PP recovering the puck in the defensive zone is not helpful.

Kadri's actually 58% on the draw on the powerplay. Better than any other Leafs centre there.

Defender covered that puck with his glove in the crease. Is that not a penalty shot?

Should have been. He might have gotten lucky that the whistle had gone/was about to be blown.

Yeah they showed it there, looks like he got lucky. And the Leafs didn't.

Then, he should be with Kessel and JvR. Put Holland between Lupul and Clarkson on the 2nd unit.

Clarkson? Who are you? Raymond has 4x the points Clarkson has on the powerplay. He's got to be out there for man advantage.

But yeah, I mean those would probably be Randy's combos, which I'm guessing is what you meant.

It's all about the Benjamin's.

Well, yeah, it's partly because I expect that's how Carlyle would do things, but, I also think having Clarkson plant himself in front of the net could work. All he'd really have to do is stand there, annoy the goalie and, on occasion, try to knock in the rebounds.

I really liked how the powerplay was run in October when Bozak and Bolland were healthy and Clarkson was out of the line-up. The first unit was more of a net presence group with JVR in front and Bozak screening in the middle, while the second unit was looking for the cross-crease pass more often with two forwards on the opposite ends of the net.

i think it was good to go with different looks like that.

Why is Smith such a lock to make the Olympics for some people? 37th/24th in GAA/SA% this season. Last season he was 28th/25th.

I wish TSN would stop mentioning Gardiners name in trade rumors.  It would be a huge mistake to let this guy go anywhere else to play.

Except to Pittsburgh, for Crosby and Malkin.

YEah. I just think that maybe using Clarkson in a Holmstrom-esque role might be the only way to get a decent level of production out of him.
